I totally believe it even, on the local politics level. An honest everday person who would like to do some good for his local community has no chance of ever bein elected to a local office. Plain an simple, it takes money to get elected into any form of government office. The regular joe shmoo ain't got the money, therefore we got nuthin but the wealthy, crocked politicians to choose from. It basically comes down to pickin the lesser of the evils runnin for office.

in ohio there were at least 6 candidates running

if you did not like the republican nor the democrat

you could have voted for someone else or wrote in anyone you wanted

not voting does nothing but let them know you do not care

Not voting is the main problem with our government not representing the average citizens.

If you do not vote, you really have no rights to complain about the government. You don't participate so you don't count. Literally.

I vote and participate in our government. I voted for Obama because he was the best offered on the board.

No human is perfect and he had some records I did not approve of but he was still the best offered this last election.
