Got girlfriend/feonca that is adickted to hospitals, And she has a bad atutuded about most things latly.It's making me nuts. Any addvice? Is she eating or snorting the hospitals ? |

Münchausen syndrome is a term for psychiatric disorders known as factitious disorders wherein those affected feign disease, illness, or psychological trauma in order to draw attention or sympathy to themselves. It is also sometimes known as hospital addiction syndrome or hospital hopper syndrome.

It is the attention that they receive from the staff (dr's, nurses, stc.)that they seek. What is REALLY sad is Münchausen by Proxy...same disease but the patient uses their child(ren) to draw attention. Alot of patients will actually harm their own child and then seek medical treatment. Many children have died at the hands of their own parent as a result of this.
