I would love to be able to live and work in the United States. I am Canadian and Canada is a wonderful place to live and work as well. Also we have excellent health care.

Just an idea. Looking for love anyways. Couldn't hurt to look down south.

Does anyone have any opinions on the matter. Dating or marrying for citizenship?

Hope to get a few replies

Cheers

KK

I think it's a selfish idea to look for Love, in the US, knowing what truely 'lies' behind it.

You would be no better than the others that come here and take advantage of woman that just want a man love Love and care for, then to come to find out it was all influenced by a selfish want.

By the way... US not the best place to be looking for a job at the moment.

Sorry, I am a Texas Southern Bell, but we tend to be a little sensitive on this matter down here. And we aren't very afraid to speak our mind.

Please dont take bad, just as it says. I really am a sweet girl, lol! flowerforyou Just try to do and speak whats right

Y'all Have a Great Day flowers

1. i only marry for love and not be hooked up to this illegal philippine marriages to get US CITIZENSHIP..

2. been in chicago 18 years as a single divorcee....everywhere i go from my vacation to philippines, volunteering in dept. of aging, to immigration attorney, to collegues/doctors at work, next door neigbour thru the years asking to pay me megabucks so some illegal alien can be a citizen and i tell them to GET OUT OF MY FACE...BECAUSE I ONLY WILL MARRY FOR LOVE and not money...

Yes I was thinking USA because it's so close. And there are some beautiful areas down there near the ocean. It's actually not a very appealing Country right now. Lack of jobs. Expensive health care costs. The falling dollar. Gun crime.

It would probably be a better deal for the woman getting to come live in Canada. If she doesn't mind the cold winters..brrrr

All those problems exist in the US, too. And what does marrying for citizenship have to do with love?

why not people have been getting married for all the wrong reasons anyway, that's why the first time marriage divorce rate is over 70%....Money, social standing, looks, physique, or citizenship what's the difference.....course I'm being facetious......But I'd do it to save someone in a heart beat.

Its amazing to me. I married a British man for love, but unfortunately I married him in Brittain and we had to go through three years of seperation and red tape and restrictions before finally getting a solid DENIAL for him to come here. Kind of pisses me off a bit to hear of people being permitted to just WALTZ in, to gain citizenship or get work ,while others like us do the 'right thing' and get denied the ability to keep our family together(we also have a daughter together, but it matters not to immigration. Guess if he could have come here and got a crappy job, he would be seen more empathetically and stand more of a chance.)

LOL.. I know,, I was 'relating'. Marry for love, if you wish to come to the US,, do so on a visit and if you meet the right girl, court a while, visit alot, and then get married(but in the US,, otherwise, your gonna face loads of bureaucratic crap).
