That's insane! I suppose they only want supermodels? Sounds like a lot of the men I have talked to on various sites. "Sorry, no fat chicks"rant

omg, I hope those people don't put too much stock in a narcissistic (spelling?) website. That just promotes outer beauty and not inner beauty.

I wonder if there will be lawsuits against that site.

its tough, dating sites are not a necessity like education or healthcare or employment so I am not sure if there is any legal basis to deny them 'discrimination' in their choice of members....

it sucks,, but, apparently it is a site for certain types and not others,,,

meh, it's their site to do with as they wish. I've been kicked off of a site because I have unpopular opinions, but I didn't cry about it. Since the site is dedicated to "beautiful people", it's reasonable for the owners of the site to maintain a stand of "beauty" (as they define it). As business owners, they likely understand that they're catering to a niche market and are willing to lose potential business from "ugly" people to do so.

how would this be different than BBW dating sites?

Oh, is that hogwash!!! That's a very narrow concept of "beauty". I should think that there would be a law suit invloved, knowing how people think these days.

I dont think there could be a winnable lawsuit there. If these standards are agreed to in the terms and conditions(which they usually sneak in there somewhere ) and the person agreed to it,, thats pretty much the end of the story.

they absolutely shouldn't have a lawsuit! the members voted...MEMBERS voted...meaning the pool of people they are catering to went on opinion...I'm sure some of the people that stayed where 'overweight' but generally pretty...it's about public opinion..

That would be like suing hotornot.com because you have a low rating(which I'm sure someone has/will try)

I don't recall any constitutional guarantees of a freedom from rejection by dating sites

its written in small print and in a different language laugh

whole idea sucks, but it's their site - to those that don't like it, deactivate, unregister, cancel, stop using the account.

So what's next? Whites only? No people with disabilities? No Jews or Muslims? Sure it's easy for people to shrug their shoulders now when it's just heavyweights, but where is the line drawn? I think this is only the beginning of a discriminatory country club.

Cats...there are dating sites for certain races now.

I still don't see how this is different than BBW sites. I'm built like a twig and I wouldn't be allowed on those. Why is it a narrow concept of beauty? BBW stands for Big BEAUTIFUL Women. The are beautiful woman that are big.

sounds a bit like a double standard IMO

but you can't force a group to accept people who don't adhere to the purposes of that group

you can't force the Boy Scouts to accept gays

you can't force the Girl Scouts to accept 50 year old men

you can't force the VFW to accept non-veterans

so if they spell out their membership requirements you can't force them to accept people who don't meet those requirements
