Okay, without using the easy answer, "cops" how would you deal with a thief or thieves that stole something that belonged to you? Remember, this is how you would handle it without police involvement. If you do, fine, but to answer the question, properly, how would you personally handle someone who stole from you? Has it ever happened to you? Have you ever dealt with it yourself? How? Any stories? New topic, have fun with it.flowerforyou

Has anyone ever stolen back something that was stolen from them? Or have you ever stolen something of equivalent value from someone that stole from you? Of course you can say you can never justify stealing for stealing, but have you ever done it? A fair question?

Honestly, I kicked their a$$. Being 6'4", and just a sammich shy of 300 lbs, not too many people eff with me or my stuff, but when it does happen, and I know who did it, I get them back.

I have justified stealing for repaying the debt they owed me. I took a guy's rear wheels off his car after he didn't pay me the 400 bucks he borrowed. I already had him sign a promisary(sp) note (military official I.O.U.), and he didn't pay me anything when he was supposed to have paid me in full. I held them for two weeks, and then sold them.

When you are at your highest happiness, is when you are at the highest risk of thieves. Be always on guard.

although having things stolen feels terrible and violates personal space and regard,,,,

material things are replaceable,,, so with no police,, I would have to swallow it up and move on , trying to replace it.

It's sucks to get ripped off.....I let it go and don't put myself in the position for it to happen again.

Last summer a friend borrowed money for necessities..ended up just leaving town instead. Took a few of my books, a few essential items of clothing from my son's, my copy of "What that bleep do we know...and my digital camera.

I figured he needed them...not gonna hunt him down, worry about it. All replaceable, I am kinda pissed about the camera, it was pretty nice.

Once several years ago we'd planned to make a trip to FL to my Dads & drive during the night so the kids would sleep. My dryer was broken & so while my ex husband worked that day I'd washed up the clothes & fixed dinner. After dinner was over I went to the laundry mat to dry them to pack & my ex laid down for a nap before the long drive. A 16 YO came in through the window & started up the stairs. My ex was in bed & heard him. He gave the boy 30 minutes to have his Dad call him & he didn't. So, my ex called the police & pressed charges. The boy got 1 years probation. I did something a couple years ago when I was drunk & got into legal trouble myself. So, I'm not one to really talk. In all honestly there's really no reason for stealing. Something I wouldn't had done in the right frame of mind. But, I put myself there!!

Honestly, almost every, single time that I've been "ripped off", which has been more times than I can keep up w/ or count???

It was my mistake for being such an eternal helper, saviour complex!

It is an error I've repeated too many times, so I find only myself responsible ...

Some daft reason I keep repeating that cycle ...

I am the only common denominator ... think

Let it go ... Cops can't help ... Small claims court would just be more upset, imho!

I love this scripture:

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal ...

... But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal ...

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also ...

I don't like cops so for most issues like this I just handle it myself. I'd rather not get into what I do exactly.
