Ever get them? Ex-girlfriends (or boyfriends) a long long time ago? I just got contacted by an ex, just out of nowhere. I have this habit of turning off my instant messenger for years now..I disabled it. So, since I booted up from my other hard drive on my computer..the windows xp came up and automatically started the messenger, which I didn't even notice. I haven't used this hard drive ever since ...probably since the last time I talked to her, which was about 2 and a half years ago. So I'm sitting here reading stuff on the web and then "POP" she comes online and says "HI!"
I almost fell out of my chair. But eventually we were just talking random stuff about how things are etc..nothing serious..and then she swinged into slowly other topics, about how it was back then ( I warned her a few times kindly saying, let's talk about what's going on now, not the past, it's different now etc. ) and then she started to become more nervous I guess or I don't know, but then she just quickly said "I have to go" and logged off. I had a few moments, but just nostalgic moments....2 1/2 years ago she could have killed me talking about these things, but not anymore. I feel nothing..I don't think she exists anymore and I'm glad for it actually. Maybe she is truly "dead" in me now? But not me for her? LOL, Or just her boyfriend walked into her room? |

Actually, I'm on pretty good terms with most of my ex's. (though none of them became all that serious). Kinda lucky and unlucky at the same time, I guess.

I even have some of them on my Facebook and they comment on this or that and send messages but it's just common stuff nothing to do with relationships. But this one avoids me at all costs (not that it's a problem for me) but I always wondered about what happened to her, but just in general. |

I think your 'blast from the past' was a 'total recall' of all your history condensed into an IM. Sounds like there was pain in the past but now just a faint recollection of it. That's closure dude.

a few years ago, i was registering my daughter for a swim team and i heard a 'hi lisa' and when i turned around, it was my high school sweetheart - registering his daughter for the same team!
our daughters became fast friends, swam together for a couple of years, and even visited each other's homes. he's the only real boyfriend i had with whom i'd stay in touch and/or remain friends. no hard feelings with any of the others, just that he was the most special. |

well I can say my ex and me don't get along well. She called me like a week ago on the phone and I wasn't really happy to hear from her.

Humm only once and we actually hooked back up for a weekend. It was actually a very pleasant weekend but the magic had left that was between us. So it ended up being the weekend that gave the closer that was needed...........
It reminded me why an ex is a ex........

I don't talk to my ex wife anymore simply because when she told me about her getting married (which happened in August of 2009) she acted weird about me not being upset about it. Basically, she wanted me to be upset and I am guessing she wanted me to make the attempt to want her again. I knew when I hung up the phone with her that it was best to just not speak anymore. She was moving on with her new life and I was going about mine. Perhaps in the future we will talk. But I am not going out of my way to do so.
Now, my ex girlfriend and I do still talk, as we both left our relationship on good terms. I got close to her daughter so I want to continue to be involved with them. At the very least to keep contact with them. If she were to meet a new guy, then I would want to discuss the boundaries and all. Don't want any uncomfortableness. |

Yeah, I think I've got one ex on my FB. It was a bad break up, but years later, we were able to discuss it quietly and respectfully, apologize to each other, helped him get through his divorce by a free ear to talk to, and we drop occasional posts on each others page. Now, I laugh at the goofy crap he and his girlfriend natter to each other about.

I met up with my gf from when I was 18 on facebook. We email eachother 2 or 3 times a week now and are going to meet up when I fly back home for a visit this summer should be interesting, no expectations though.

I'm civil with one ex, so her and I talking isn't an issue. The other exes, hmmm, delete message, block, or respond with sog off, depending on my mood.

I did reunite with someone from 25 years ago...it fizzled out pretty fast the second time around, we just weren't the same people. We stayed in touch until he got involved with someone else and I gracefully backed away. I still hear from some others once in a while, just checkin' in sorta thing. There's only one I don't hear from and don't wish to hear from again...yeah....karma can't rain down on his behind fast enough!
