Do you feel more comfortable with a man or woman boss? Why?

I prefer to work for a man... I've had a few women bosses and they were ok but with what I do I usually work for the owner and the owners are typically men. The last woman business owner I worked for used to have to get her husbands approval for everything we did.. That was just dumb...

I worked for a woman once...omg...she was HORRIBLE!!! Always looking over everyone's shoulders. Made people feel really uncomfortable. Working for the men I worked for was a breeze. As long as you got the job done and did it well...they didn't care what you did.

I love to work with women. They are great to work with. They know what they want done.

My male bosses have always been far easier to work for.

Definitely prefer men, they are more goal oriented and focused on one thing... success. Most women I've had to deal with have been going in multiple directions at once and take on so much at any given moment that they stay stressed and difficult to deal with or left me feeling manipulated or back stabbed.

probably men, Im more comfortable in general around men because I was raised with all brothers

women tend to be too petty, and competitive,,,

I prefer to be the boss and I prefer to work alone. It's a win/win!

I've worked for both, and I think it more depends on the job and the person. For example:

I don't think I'd of enjoyed the landscaping job with a different boss, that dude was awesome.

I hated that woman at the telemarketing place, not to mention the job.

Loved the women at the environmental lobby (three different female bosses).

Thought the guy at the bar was cool.

I'm pretty sure I was a horrible boss at my last two jobs.

My favorite supervisor EVER was female. She could cut down the "Good Ole Boys" in a sentence, yet managed with a professional sensitivity.
She expected excellence of your potential which included asking for help. Awesome boss.

A commrade once said, "Frounia, why are you being such a D!CK!"? She said, "Thank you Vince" (acknowledging appreciation of equal treatment good or bad). Then she tore him a new one...with "facts".laugh Hilarious and impressive.

Interesting responses. I feel more comfortable around women in general, so I would prefer a female boss. I've always felt more comfortable with a female boss.

Interesting thread, it appears most of us tend to prefer to work under the opposite sex. I didn't expect that.
