Well, some of the odd jobs I have done were pretty punishing but two things do come to mind for sure...

One was getting into a drinking game with a former room mate of mine and the both of us drained a 1.75 of Jim Beam in one night just between the two of us. The hangover the next morning was legendary! What is a hangover from hell? Waking up the next morning STILL drunk and hung over!

That and seeing how many shots of Everclear 190 I could take back to back. My limit was three and I was holding my breath a lot! My stomach felt like I was going to barf up blue fire at any second!

Then there was sitting through the entire movie BABEL! SUCK FEST! I still want my 10 bucks back!

Most punishing thing I ever did was basic training but next to that was a 100 km walk in 16 hours.

Watching grandpa die of a heart attack when I was about 6 or so and watching my dad beat his chest and breath into his mouth for what seemed like forever, saying "Come on!" over and over:cry:

All natural child birth four times, which means nothing to stop the pain. No pain no gain.

Watching the neighbor die in my arms after her car ran her over. Blood coming out of her mouth and her last words were "Go get my babies".

Having my ingrown toe nails removed when the anesthetic didn't work.surprised

Continuing to walk even though I have the equivalent to several Charlie horses in my legs all the time.

Divorce, the most painful and yet rewarding experience....at least the freedom part of it...the rest was pretty painful

I'm sorry Krupa and Dragoness, that you had to go through those experiences. Life can be so unfair. flowerforyou flowerforyou

Most of the trouble I've had has come from other people, starting with my emotionally unstable father trying to commit suicide with me when I was six years old.

The most difficult experiences I put myself through were in the raising of eight children, mostly as a single parent with no one to turn to.

Having to move back to the States and dealing with unemployment, temporary homelessness and depression - at the same time the three youngest were going through anger issues, clinical depression and regression (due to the divorce and move) - has been killer.

The stress of it all has greatly affected my health and aged me considerably in the past five years. The only thing that keeps me going is faith - in G-d and myself - and the hope that it will all turn out for the best.
