If you are "in love" and cheating on someone, that is some F'ed up version of love.
I was with the same man 20 years and NEVER thought of cheating even when things were bad out of respect even at the very end. I would smack down anyone who hit on me and would tell him even when his best friend tried to kiss me. |

My last ex would know the answer to this. I can be driven crazy by lust, but when i love a guy i'm with, then love wins me over, everytime. I can't give one part of me to one, and the other part to another. We're either a commited couple, or it's bye bye from me.

Hell no! If you love someone, truly love them, the thought of cheating never crosses your mind. You can't find what you're not looking for. JMHO

No you cant love them and cheat think how cheating hurts the other person.i definetly couldnt hurt a person i loved like that or even liked cheats are selfish if your happy with someone their good to you dont hurt them

Yes it is possible to love more than one person at a time. But the issue is, you don't really love the suffering of love but the thought. Go figure?

It is possible to love someone, and yet not be a match. Part of love is not wanting to intentionally harm the one you love. Yet cheating does cause harm, and it is a conscious decision. So if you are tempted to cheat, then chances are that either you have not been completely honest with yourself about what you want, or your partner is not the right match for you. You should never allow it to go as far as cheating - that causes more harm in the long run. Instead, you must ask yourself why you want to cheat, then resolve the situation before it comes to that. Consider this: Cheating is way of disrespecting yourself. You aren't just betraying your partner, but yourself as well. Your lovers, present and future, will have difficulty trusting you, diminishing your own happiness. If you love someone but cheat on them, you doubly harm yourself because part of love is not wanting to hurt your lover. It is possible to love anyone in any way, whether or not there is sex involved. >>Part of love is not wanting to intentionally harm the one you love. << That is the excuse for lying about cheating. The whole tragedy of cheating is the breaking of a promise or vow to remain faithful, then lying about it. It is less about the act of sex but more about the breaking of a vow. The lying seems like it is done to prevent hurting the spouse you are cheating on, but in truth it is done to cover up the breaking of a vow. |

If one were to believe that, then you would destroy any hope for "love" because of a sexual mistake. Sex and love are not the same thing at all. "Real Love" --- what is that really? I think it is possible to love more than one person, and many do without having to cheat. However, while I think it's possible to both love someone and cheat on them, that seems like a very dysfunctional kind of love to me.

I think it is possible to love more than one person, and many do without having to cheat. However, while I think it's possible to both love someone and cheat on them, that seems like a very dysfunctional kind of love to me. Yes, cheating as a regular way of life is very dysfunctional. Most men under 40 think below the navel.
For a lot of men over a certain age it is not an option...  Real Love is attainable but it takes a special type of person. Cheating should never be condoned. Sometimes people stay in relationships because of children and have sex outside of that relationship....this might be classed as cheating....? |
