I think there were several overlapping issues

the issue of whether we should make others pay for our reproductive choices (be it an insurance company or their policy holders)

crossed over the idea of whether such open and free availability promotes the behavior of those who are merely trying to have 'sex' (promiscuity)

and whether anyone should refer to a promiscuous woman as a 'slut'

basically Rush was personally insulting to a young woman (and by extension any women who felt she represented them) and I think that was the major part of the uproar, the conflict over who should have to pay for us to be able to have sex without 'fear of pregnancy' was pretty much overshadowed by Rushs usual asinine conduct

So you think that if someone is having sex and wanting birth control available, they're automatically promiscuous? What is your definition of promiscuous?

It's not a question of being "available"
It's a question of should it be free.

Actually, it was about being covered through insurance. People pay for insurance and pay co-pays. So no, it isn't free. Unless you have insurance that your company pays 100% for and you never pay anything at all. If you have that, lucky you!

Republican presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul said an apology by conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh to Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke for calling her a "slut" and a "prostitute" was not sincere, and was made only because it best served Limbaugh.
On CBS News' "Face the Nation," the Texas congressman told host Bob Schieffer that Limbaugh's apology "was in his best interest."
"He's doing it because some people were taking their advertisements off of his program. It was his bottom line he was concerned about," Paul said.
Paul referred to three companies that pulled advertisements from Limbaugh's show ...

Of all the GOP candidates, RP is the only one who consistently makes intelligent, sensible, honest observations.

This is quite true, but the dumbed down people are so brainwashed by the gobbledygook they hear the MSM report, they fail to see it. They would rather label him as a racist and get back to their mundane jobs. All the while, their rights are vanishing

no, not at all

anymore than I think people with guns are automatically violent

I just thought one of the issues being addressed (however disrespectfully) was the idea that 'giving away' birth control (for lack of a better word) might further encourage those who are promiscuous already,,,,

kind of like easy access to guns may encourage those who are already violent

,,not necessarily a right or wrong issue, just a perspective
