At least eight companies, including AOL, have now bailed on the misogynistic gasbag formerly known as Rush. The U.S. military isn't one of them, but female veterans are working on it. Meanwhile, Sandra Fluke dismissed Limbaugh's "apology" in her first TV interview. More here and here on the bountiful apologies overdue from the guy who "puts the vile in juvenile."

Update: Make that 12.

This is not about a woman's entitlement. The issue is should this country pay for women to have sex when they can go to Planned Parenthood and get contraceptives free.

this time, that wasnt the issue

the issue/controversy, was limbaugh calling someone a 'slut', as a conclusion to the assumption that someone would be having so much sex that they couldnt afford the condoms/birth control themself

Where in the hell did you get the idea that "the country" was going to have to pay?

Way outta touch...

Exactly who pays when insurance companies use it as an excuse to raise prices on insurance plans?? The people of the country or the politicians that exempt themselves from the laws, policies and regulations the rest of the population must abide by?? But yet, cover viagra and cialis for men??

I think the policyholder does,,,,just guessing,,lol

the more policyholders, the lower the company can afford to offer the policies for

the fewer policyholders, the higher the costs will go

Maybe this helps explain the discrepancy:

about 50% of the population is female
less than 15% identify as black
less than 5% identify as gay

Also, I think that the snow-balling of social-networking based activism plays a role here. Many of the really disgusting things Rush has said over the decades were said before the era of such effective social networking activism.

Limbaugh is out of touch.

He lives in a 1980s bubble and has no clue what the modern conservative movement is about.

He supported big government Republicans his entire life and sees, as many of them do, that social issues are still the driving force behind elections. As long as you are right to life, then you can spend away and erode liberty and freedom as much as you want.

Those days are gone..

Birth control pills are not free at Planned Parenthood.

For as out of touch as he is, many still do follow him and agree with what he says. Then again, those people are out of touch as well.

Limbaugh is one of the people who has had the most to do with the increased level of polarization in our society over the past decade or so. Nothing would please me more than to see him get kicked off the air for good.

His core audience is older and has been with him since the beginning of his show.

They need to get on board with the changes or get out of the way.

I agree. There are topics on which I agree with him, but when I do I find him to be an embarrassment; I don't want people like him loudly and publicly arguing for the things I believe in. It tends to send thinking, caring people to the other side of the argument.

My 1973 Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary Says a slut is a slovenly woman. “The pile” is available to any woman free who wants it. The Demos are thrashing a round trying to find something to take the place of
Dr. twisting the limes off not yet born babies. This woman is being sacrificed just like the woman coming out of the oval office with a stain on her dress

All the conservatives I know personally stopped listening to Rush years ago when he abandoned his Buchananite style in favor of neoconservatism and warfare statism.

Isn't this how it started when everyone, including Fox, dumped Glenn Beck?
