so what does racism have to do with the dems calling the repubs stupid? dems like to holler racism at every turn, even when the shoe doesn't fit. The tea party is a little racist, but the republicans are not really, as a whole. The dems put that spin on it because they are lazy, and do not want to work for a living, and would rather have people as slaves of the government by extending benefits and handing out food stamps like crazy. why would anyone want to work for less than the government gives them? The republicans want to put people back to work, but the dems would rather give the lazy people everything for free... hmm so what have been the 'repubs' job creating ideas? and how do you define free or lazy? work for welfare mandates people work,,,so why is that getting something for 'free' there are people in each party who are racist, just like there are people in all income brackes who commit crime yet, certain ....Variables, ,,,make it easier and more acceptable sometimes for certain crimes to be committed or for certan people to be racist 'repubs' dont have a recent history of aknowledging or showing concern for racial disparities,, so they have a more FERTILE ground for racism charges racial disparities? just a load of made up bunk... so tell me, in this day and age, what are the racial disparities? pointing them out would be futile because Im sure it would be argued that the issue wasnt really race,,,, good, because to me, it's a thing people use to get their way, when everything else fails... yes, Im sure racism is just a figment of peoples imagination that they use (quite unsuccessfully apparently) to 'get their way'  really? why is it if someone didn't like obama's policies, or just didn't like him for any reason, they were automatically labeled a racist? i heard no one calling him any names, but were still declared a racist? why is it if a black person and a white person are both applying for a job, the person making the decision has to worry about being a racist if they hire who they thought was best? i've said it before, and i'll say it again, it's the "crying wolf" syndrome, and me being white in America, i see very little, if any, racism you seem to think is so rampant here.. ask the people who called those people racist.... I consider racism when I perceive a PERSONAL Hatred of a person that doesnt seem to be attributable to any other difference but RACE (ie, other people with said problem, issue, were still not HATED by the speaker) racism doesnt require blatantly 'calling names' employers dont have to worry about being racist if they have no HISTORY of racial discrimination and you being white would be precisely the reason it would be harder for you to 'see' racism against other groups other groups can see it quite clearly,,,, so if a black person doesn't treat you right, you think it's racism? people of all colors, including whites, have treated me with disrespect, so i should think they are all racists? and me being white, i have an inherent ability to not see prejudice? i think the difference is that you look and want it to be prejudice, when in fact, they just may not like something about you besides you skin color, like your shoes or the way your hair is. sometimes you and others read to much into things, and thinking everyone is prejudice for any little reason is not healthy. sometimes, more often than not, people do not want to get along with each other, and not because of the color of their skin.... what would benefit me in something being prejudice? why would I possibly 'want' to see prejudice? thats silliness I dont assume people are prejudice because of a 'little reason' I assume americans are prejudice because of HISTORICAL and SYSTEMIC context and the RACIAl (and gender) CASTE system america is founded upon and there are a list of statistics and research to back up that general presumption,,,,both about racial disparities in the educational and justice system, racial disparities in housing and employment, and about how the BRAIN works in general to sensual stimuli,,,, |

Msharmony, The military helped make me racist and it has taken a long time to recover as you say. But that was late 60s and early 70s, methinks they are better integrated now... If the military made you racist, how did many others get through being in the military without being racist? they didnt, although they may have learned to fight against it so that they became 'recovering' racists,,, some racism is just much more subtle and less 'hateful' than other racism,,, You're saying that everyone in the military is racist? the great majority of AMERICANS are racist (subtle and overt) unless they came up with little access to media or public education Nice. Now you're calling most Americans racist along with all of the military. sure am,, and unfortunately many americans cant have this discussion without immediately shutting themself down with defense mechanisms see, thats my whole point... your saying everyone is prejudice but you... and how healthy is that? the first thing any therapist will tell you if you think the world around you is the problem, then the problem is with you, not the world... somehow, I keep being paraphrased incorrectly what I Said was ANYONE raised in american culture with public education and media is RACIST or a RECOVERING RACIST I already admitted to being in the latter group |

All I understand is 50% of black men are unemployed and that is pitiful for this nation. They can't all be as mentioned. (drugs etc)

(drugs etc) there is SOME cultural overlap with certain subcultures who have started to take womens lib to the EXTREME and feel comfortable letting women take care of them but another (probably bigger) issue is 'networking' the greatest percentage of job openings are UNADVERTISED so they are filled by people who are surrounded by or exposed to those in the 'network' of employment who can inform them of the resources and openings black men have not had as much fortune in the area of networking and references,, resources,,,etc,,, |
