If not, what's stopping you?

I am currently not living my dreams. I was for a long time, but things changed and I must have more money.

I will get back to living my dreams soon enough.

I am living my dreams...simply because I allow the dreams to change. Am I where I thought I'd be 10 years ago? Hell no. Is anyone? One of the best things about being human, in my humble opinion, is our ability to flex and change and morph to fit the circumstances that surround us. I have bad days. We all do. I sometimes feel that I'm "spinning my wheels" and getting nowhere. However, I have a great job I love. I have the love of three wonderful kids. I have a great family that supports me despite the crappy choices I sometimes make. Who can ask for more?

Hummm honestly all I ever wanted when growing up was that house with the yard, a family to grow old with and grand kids to enjoy....and be able to make a decent living....

The only thing missing from that picture is the man I thought I would be with for a lifetime...

Even though I'm content where I'm. I have a job I absolutely enjoy, own my own home, I'm proud of both my kids the way they have turned out and I have three grand kids. bigsmile

I'm now at the point in my life I'm starting to do repairs on my house and re-vamping a room at a time... Have been able to fulfill my dream of going on not one but two cruises. I've gotten to go scuba diving and go parasailing.....

I still have a few more things on my list I want to do sure if it was not for the money even those things would have already been done or bought... But all in all I can not complain we learn to do the best with what we have...

To many are always looking at what they don't have and forget to enjoy what is before them....

Nope; not really living my dream as like Texas; I need more money. The one thing stopping me is my age and education. To get a decent job; you must have a University education and anyone over 40 here in Calgary has a hard time getting hired because of their age. Perhaps; I should think like Old Sage and really just start my own business so I am not at the mercy of these a-hole employers.

Yes because I dream of a life that I breath, see, walk, feel, laugh, help and love in and it happens for me every day.

My life is exactly what I created.

I take full responsibility.

If you keep telling yourself that, then that is what you believe and if that is what you believe that is what you create.

Yes, start your own business. Why would you want to work for someone else anyway?

Why allow any belief or any situation hold you back from going after your dreams?

Stop making excuses. Go for it.

You only have your life ... live it on your terms.

If they are actually saying it, then you can sue them on age discrimination.

I saw in our town where the county hired a young good looking blond girl fresh out of college to be in charge of the extension office and passed up a man who had years of experience. She could not do the job and was not qualified. They hired her because she was wearing a skirt and was blond.

Now she is gone and the man has been hired. He is doing a good job because he has experience and knows what to do.

Do not accept the belief that they will not hire you because of your age. What you believe and what you put your attention on is what you create.

Jim Croce I've Got A Name Lyrics

Like the pine trees lining the winding road
I've got a name
I've got a name
Like the singing bird and the croaking toad
I've got a name
I've got a name
And I carry it with me like my daddy did
But I'm living the dream that he kept hid
Moving me down the highway
Rolling me down the highway
Moving ahead so life won't pass me by
Like the North wind whistling down the sky
I've got a song
I've got a song
Like the whip-poor-will and the babies crying
I've got a song
I've got a song
And I carry it with me and I sing it loud
If it gets me nowhere, I'll go there proud
Moving me down the highway
Rolling me down the highway
Moving ahead so life won't pass me by
And I'm gonna go there free
Like the fool I am and I'll always be
I've got a dream
I've got a dream
They can change their minds but they can't change me
I've got a dream
I've got a dream
I know I could share it if you want me to
If your going my way I'll go with you
Moving me down the highway
Rolling me down the highway
Moving ahead so life won't pass me by
Moving me down the highway
Rolling me down the highway
Moving ahead so life won't pass me by

If you're creative you can start a business with no funds at all. I know because I did it. It'll take a while before it starts bringing in money, but there's no cost, so I can wait.

Are you an expert at anything? Start a blog and promote it. It costs nothing.

Yes you can create a product, and start a business with little or nothing.

I have a friend who works in a body shop and he invented a flag inserter. I built him a website.

He is selling them via pay pal at www.flagthumper.com

I can sew and create just about anything but I need to find a niche and market something that isn't already saturated in the market place. Also; I need time to do these things and working a full time job as well as maintaining a house doesn't give me much free time other than the weekends.

You are correct that I can sue but it will take years to go to court as there are hundreds of cases of age discrimination. I know this because a friend of mine works for labor standards and she is swamped with these cases.

Write a book. Then sell it on line. You can even set it up with a print on demand publisher.

Now that is a good idea. I was thinking of writing a book about what it was like to be on the first crew of women to ever serve on a combat ship in the Canadian Navy.
