we just place a higher expectation on certain people in certain careers,,,,but I honestly think most police are decent folks, and that the buttholes ruin it for the rest of them,,,,,

There are white supremest groups and black supremest groups in the USA that are on the extreme fringe.

I have observed racism among Americans who are Democrats.
I have observed racism among Americans who are African-Americans.

As I see it, the aforementioned racism that I have observed is a part of the "'present and clear' danger" that you mention in your first post.
