Ok it is that time of years when we hope it is not just the thought that counts so what was your best and worst holiday gift?

Best; Friend gave me Proof sets of my sons birth year coins when they were not going to get a whole lot that year.

Worst: A flood

For me the best was the car my mum bought me when I passed my driving test at age 17 and the worst was a cheap drill my Aunt bought me that blew up in my hand and electrocuted me? Not nice,

The best was a hand written love letter I received from a girlfriend at the time, very touching.
The worst I bought an engagement ring for Christmas for a woman I was with for a long time and before I could give it to her she slept with her boss at the company holiday party, man I hate when that happens frustrated

The best: Probably something when I was a kid. Nothing in recent memory though, my family is too spread out and self absorbed for the most part, and virtually everyone I know disappears during the holiday.

The worst: My mothers death which was two days before it last year. Which makes Christmas even more miserable now.

Best: My daughter's birth. Oh okay, it was 4 hours after Christmas BUT she is still my Christmas baby.

Worst: No such thing.

Wow that is lucky you found out before you had to fight to get your ring back. Hopes you got to trade it in for something cool for yourself.

Can't say I've had either but remember when I was a kid wanting a record player so bad. Dad didn't get it till the day before because he really didn't want to get me one so he said it was for me and my sisterohwell

None of the gifts I used to receive were bad; so really no worse gifts. The best gifts my friends have given me over the last 10 years is a donation in my name to the Veteran's Food Bank.

I got a few gifts like that when I was a kid; if the younger kid in the house wanted something then they would get us both one. When she tore hers up they would take mine and give it to her as a "hand-me-down".

Or give me something she didn't want from one of her card parties.

Ever noticed how when people buy toys for charity they are the old cheap crap from the dollar store? Or the broke down stuff they don't want in their "kids" rooms anymore?

Or how they will go to the thrift store and fight over paying a dollar for something so their closet is full or they can rent some dump as furnished? frustrated
