After reading this topic I feel bad that I've been complaining about the snow here embarassed I hope things dry up soon there and people can get back to as normal as possible soon flowerforyou

Yeah I feel bad about the complaining I have been doing too.
If we have a quick thaw we could be in the same boat.

I have a friend that lives Southend Scotland. Mull of Kintyre? Haven't heard from him today but yesterday he said they were towing car after car away to keep them from being swept away. Lots of prayers and be SAFE!

Wow! I sure hope you hear from him and that all is well.

Just talked to my friend. He is fine said no flooding where he is. What he was dealing with was high waves at sea front. (Feeling relieved). Still praying!

Just can say, don't let the guys from Top Gear try to come and get anybody in the "Hovervan". Clarkson will do more damage getting there, than any help!noway

I bought a new pair of shoes yesterday actually because my old ones had holes in the soles and my feet were getting wet when I stepped in puddles.

Larsson, when isn't it raining in Glasgow? So much for that weather forecast that you told me about the other week. All that we've had here is a bit of light drizzle.

I live near the Water Of Leith and I've heard about houses down there being flooded a few years ago but there's about as much chance of Arthur's Seat erupting again as there is of there being a big flood in Edinburgh that people need to pray about.

Poor lad if you have to wait until you have holes in your soles to buy a pair of shoes should we send you a relief bundle too? Perhaps a slicker so your your leather pants don't get soaked and shrink strangling the family jewels? lol

Have you ever climbed Arthur's seat?
I never heard of it so I GOOGLED It. Looks very interesting.
Glad all is well where you live.

I've got lots of shoes but it was my favorite old pair with the steel toe caps that I had to replace.

But now that you come to mention it, these leather jeans need repairing. I had another pair years ago when I really was a poor lad and not the gentleman of leisure that I am now and when the fly went on them I almost got arested for indecent exposure.

I'm just an old hippy but I've got new suits that I hardly ever wear. Don't really see the point in getting all dressed up in smart clothes just to sit around the house or take the dog out. Also, nobody hassles me when I dress like this. Over here if you dress up in smart casual clothes you tend to get other guys that dress like that trying to mess with you but they just leave you alone if you look like a biker.

Everything is ok here in the UK, except my Uncle Walter died this morning at 6.20am ( GMT ) If I could ask you to say a wee prayer for my Uncles family? Watching a pure character in life go downhill with alzheimers was hard to watch. I wish all you fellow minglers all the very best in your lives to come and it's been a pleasure knowing you all. Take care and be lucky, ok? Jon. ( Larsson71 )

Deepest sympathy Jon. Will be privilege to say prayers for you and yours.

I will earmark my monthly gift to the local Alz Society in the family name. A gruel and heartless disease for sure.

You are the Luck that is Mingle and if you leave will be sorely missed.

Toast to you and we hope your soon to be. Seems God gave you two angels. flowerforyou

Yes, the house where I lived when I was a kid was on the slopes of Arthur's Seat and I've been up there quite a few times but haven't climbed up there for years. I'm no climber and heights used to give me vertigo butt you can get up Arthur's Seat by just walking if you avoid the crags and steep slopes. I remember sitting up there with my family back in 1977 when the Queen had her silver jubilee parade here. We call the part of the town that Arthur's Seat is in "the park" and the castle is built on a rock that was the plug that came out of the volcano. I've climbed up the castle rock as well.

You can never really get lost in Edinburgh because you have those landmarks to help you get your bearings. We get a lot of tourists here but they mostly just come for the festival.

Isn't it interesting how the history of your life tends to be hung in our closet? Work, play, "event" clothes? I know what you mean about wearing the costume of the street to be "overlooked". Sometimes it the wiser choice. Somehow part of your charm is your style so I hope you don't wander to far out of habit of it.
