What do you do about the little insults? You know, the ones that are subtle so you can't call anyone out on it....do you ignore? bite back? I tend to think I am taking the high road by ignoring, but then, some say that we need to show a backbone? I am talking about the little jabs...veiled comments about things like age or weight, hair color, moobs, or the beard that Goof is trying to grow... what say you?  Belittling, mind games, or all in jest with tongue in cheek? I see who has my back. belittling mind games.....people who make assumptions w/out knwing the truth or really anything about you (tongue in cheek jesting among friends is usually something else pretty normal - not what I mean here) yes I also value those who have my back and try to return in kind :) Well Sweetest. I do know what you speaking of. These trolls have been around with alternate profiles for years inhabiting many other forums. I will hunt those clowns down eventually, no, I don't back down, with in reason for the mods.

I tend to laugh it off and fire back in good fun when appropriate. I was bullied a bit when I was young mostly by my older brothers whom helped me grow a thick skin to most bs people say. It's a mind over matter thing. I don't mind so what they say doesn't matter. I do like using this wit I inherited from my father though so I don't always take the high road cause I can't pass up a good one liner.

I tend to avoid that if there is any concern about escalating matters sometimes Brew I think silence is the best and most effective retort :) |

For me it depends on where, how, who, when, why.
Mostly I shrug it off, even when it irritates me tremendously, sometimes I don't. And when I don't, I can either return the favour the same way or go for the jugular. Don't often do the latter, simply prefer to steer clear from negative energy as that will hurt myself just the same. But there are some occasions where I can't help myself. I do feel awkward about that afterwards though. Because I know that A) I can be real nasty  and B) I'm 48 years old, not a child playing tit for tat and C) it just doesn't sit well with me cos I'm a gentle person

I will. i had a couple of soccer players in my household. One went to rugby in college and the other stayed with soccer and played in university. I think he still plays on an adult Recreation League of some sort. I will definitely check your site. We're Crew fans here (Columbus Crew) can also be seen on the Web. The stadium is beautiful :) |

well this is where being.. super naive comes in handy.. ... most of the time I don't even realize.. I am being insulted.. .. and sweetestgirl.11.. so nice to see you.." finally" starting a topic...lol jk.. oh thank you! It is so nice to see you too :) I am also naieve. Usually if i have been insulted I don;t realize it until much later, and then I kind of wonder...hmmmmm....was that supposed to MEAN something (from some meanie) Yes.... Only to realize its actually a jab-since some actually veil it with sugar and honey,serving it sweeter and biting!!! It just makes me wonder...  |

Depending on the situation and other factors.....
But,most times,the insultor(sic) is immature/insecure/pained/saddened/half azzed/threatened by you in some way,etc...... But,sometimes,its good to give them a taste of their stinky!! Am good with stinging comebacks....but sometimes,I take a step back and try to see what/why the insultor(sic)is gunning for me ... |
