So all those single full time parents out there, how do you deal with the loneliness. Between work and kids I feel very lonely sometimes.

When the kidos were home, I was too busy to be that lonley. That is when I joined mingle for conversation. When they left home it was worse. Now I am glad to still be here. Chat in the forums it will help.

My problem is more once my kids are in bed. I can't go anywhere just sit at home. Thats when the loneliness kicks in.

I took up a hobby or study. I know what you mean. I also would have a mate over for coffees. Try movies reading a good book. Enjoy the quiet nights because its only a season

Thats what I've started doing. But not as good as talking to a person face to face.

Is there someone closer that you can trust and you could trade babysitting hours with? You also need time out. It helps to recharge your batteries.

It's hard to get people for babysitting my son. The government in my country gives me 52 hours per year respite care for my son for me to have a break and I make the most of it. He goes to a special needs career during that time.

I'm in South Auckland. I used to live in Kawerau a few years back but moved to Auckland to get work and better supports.

Sorry to say this, but you simply persevere. We all would like that face to face interaction, tv is mind numbing.
What about family? Could they babysit one night occasionally? I never had a babysitter ever, just me. I became addicted to live internet scrabble.
Good luck and dont forget people are here in the forums.

I wish I could say. I try to get out and do things, but that is not always possible.

If you are involved with a special needs parent network, you mind be able to trade babysitting time.
