For me if I do eat a lot of vegetables I get gas. So I do stink. If you have a yeast infection you smell to. Sorry just being honest. Most people won't admit they smell anyways but we are human. If you haven't had a shower In the last 4-5 hours you do stink. Sorry

This post is hilarious. Would you date them if they smell. **** NO man. Are you serious? But then I could smell like an old cigarette butt also with smoke that lingers on your clothing. As far as the old people stinking, they just need to change their diapers a little more often.

OMG no.
People who don't have a clue that their clothes and body smell are so gross. Especially ones who have some kind of costume piece like leather accessories that smell from years of BO, and cigars, and sweating out alcohol from every pore are just sickening. Stinky hair anywhere on the body is total turn off. |

but if that was the only thing that bothered me about them...then I'd tell them...if they were defensive and insulted and defiant of the fact it wouldn't matter, because at that point the potential for the relationship would be over and it wouldn't be an issue for me anymore, it would be an issue for their next potential suitor to deal with. |

Nope. I have actually been there and my free get-away-with-it vouchers for smelly men for this lifetime have gone.
And no, you don't get used to it. Maybe you would if you let your own hygiene go down the drain, so you smell alike. It's reason to not kiss, cuddle, or be intimate anymore and to stop sleeping in the same bed. In other words: A relationship killer. |

I have a colostomy since February this year. It will most likely not be reversed. I take super good care of it daily but I occasionally have a stinky Pete episode. It's not a perfect system/medical device. Though, a fascinating anatomical creation. I would be dead without it.
Not that it's top priority in my mind but I often wonder, if I ever think to date again, how it will be perceived. I think it would gross guys out, honestly. But it's my reality and my dear little friend. I will eventually nick name it., maybe Stumpy or Stinky Pete. Still thinking up names. |

I could not date someone who smelled bad. I think that I have a strong sense of smell. The last man I was dating for a few months, had the greatest fragrance. I could kiss him for hours and bury my face in his neck. He wore no cologne at all. Some people cover themselves with perfume. It doesn't work and I don't like it.

This is a situation that I think any reasonable person would/could/ should accept as a "no fault " situation and should try to accommodate if the person with the condition did what they could to control the issue. LIFE HAPPENS and when the result are surviving, and hopefully thriving, with medically necessitated care this is the exception. Having been around many people with various medical device systems my experience is usually they are RARELY and issue and often they are devout in being very considerate and accomodating the entire spectrum of personal hygiene. (If for no other reason not doing so is life threatening infections.) And now days if they do not do it themselves; they often hire a professional care giver rather than make their mate their nurse. My personal feeling is if you love someone their medical care is a privilege; even the times it is less than pleasant. Since you NEVER know when you can be walking in the same shoes; especially when we age, I I think we have to consider offering "grace" in no fault situations. |
