Hi, I lost my father back in 1979 and my mother passed a year later, 1980. I was 21/22 years old and have been on my own since. Has been a difficult and challenging journey but I have lived a decent life so far. I think about them all the time and miss them every day.

Losing your parents is one of the hardest things to go through, I lost my mother when I was 17 year's old, my father when I was 30, you were blessed to have them as long as you did.. (

Hi Charlotte, I lost both Parents in 03 they passed 3 months apart as time passes the loss gets easier but I still miss them.. not being able to talk to them.. My kids were young and wish they could have gotten to know each other.. the only comfort is knowing that both my parents passed while sleeping and they knew their kids were ok.. and I know they are watching over us all.. I feel them on occasion and they are in a better place.. brokenheart

Hello Charlotte,

I lost both my parents more than several years ago.
First my father and then a year or so later, my mother too.

Every so often, frequently even,
I would recall my mother laughing and smiling,
Sometimes I would recall how courageous my father was.

Really, I only have ONE regret in life,
Not spending enough time with them!

Still, whenever I say prayers to GOD,
I ask GOD to forgive them for any mistakes,
And to send blessings upon them.
And simply let GOD know that I think,
As parents, they were perfect role models,
Who brought their children up to the best of their ability.

I just hope I can be as good as them.

I lost my mother years ago charlotte ...
as my father stepped in to try and be both for me...
and loosing my dad that was in his nineties ...
was not easy for me ... he was always there for me ...
know matter where I was in my own life ...
he gave me security and love ...
something I have fought with in my life as with in myself ...
now that he is gone ... if a heaven...
I believe he is there ... even though he had made mistakes...
he made up for it all being a very good dad & man
...
and it does feel strange ... at our age ... but is always a good reminder that they mostly had a very good life them selves ...
hang in always going to feel some way about it or another ...
but try and be happy for them too. surely hope yours did not suffer ... flowerforyou

Losing my dad to bowel cancer was bad enough.
I couldn't handle losing my mum. We have had two scares with breast cancer.

Lost my Mom two years ago. She was 90 at the time. It was by God's grace, that I was able to see her four months prior, and have some interaction with her. My Dad is 92 today and still misses her...

It is not anymore the same without them. I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my mother in 1997 I was 15 and my father in 2010, I was 28. It's my father I miss the most because I'm with him when he was confined until his last breath.

I have lost both of my parents and thought that it could not get worse until I lost my only child Scott who was 34. Now I know what it is like to be truly alone. My Son was my only family.

I know how you feel. I lost both my parents but that paled in comparison to losing my best friend and soulmate, my son who was only 19.
