I just do this online thing to check members out and make friends in the forums. That's all. If a guy is out there for me, he'll show up. But right now, I'm working on "me". Besides, I don't want to tell my parents I met a guy online again. noway My dad will set himself up to go to jail just to protect me. Love my daddy! flowerforyou

When I talk about my online friends to my tangible friends I may as well be talking about fictional characters from a romance novel. They look through me.

The couple of first dates I went on (okay, there's only been 2) I drove myself to the meet spot and I also offered to contribute when the check came. But, that's the kind of wonderful person I am. Call 555-56..oh, scratch that.

Well geez, Katz...if you showed her THIS face, it's no wonder!

Maybe it was my glasses that threw her.slaphead

As I think about it. I have gotten compliments from plenty of guys here. Both straight and gay.

Everything from "you're insane" to "you're sexy". To me it is just a compliment.

The ones that can't take a compliment are immediately ignored in my book. (If I wanna deal with someone with paranoia issues I will call up an ex)

You ARE insane and you ARE sexy. You'll have to live with that fact.flowerforyou winking

countrymike, I have read this thread through and you sound as if you're just plain angry at everyone. The topic really isn't the issue with you is it? You stir up some commotion and say you're done and then you peeked back in to see if anyone said anything about you and then here you come flapping your cape in the wind. If I'm wrong on this I beg your forgiveness but you sound peeved at the world in general. Peace. flowerforyou

Actually, it's not my lil' Schnauzer it's a little old (13+) Persian cat I rescued last year. She still eats and drinks but is indiscriminate about where she goes potty. She will wake up and meow a couple times and looks around looking confused. She barfs a lot and sneeze-coughs. She has scabs on her back probably due to immune deficiency. She has a crabby face because she's Persian so it's hard to tell if she's happy. I guess if she's eating she's okay for now. Thanks everybody. I didn't mean to bum anybody out or bring back sad memories.flowerforyou

Plus, they want $65.00 to send her to Kitty Heaven! But I will do that for her when it's time because it't the kind thing to do.

hey folks,,,a not toofftopic ,,,,but,
does anyone know where the term cocktails came from,,,and why it is called that?
I was thinking of that today after read a bar logo,,,and had some real cute thoughts of my own,,lol, but really,,,I don't have a clue to where it started or why??

The earliest known printed use of the word “cocktail” was in The Farmer’s Cabinet, April 28, 1803

“Drank a glass of cocktail — excellent for the head . . . Call’d at the Doct’s. found Burnham — he looked very wise — drank another glass of cocktail.”

The earliest definition of "cocktail" was in the May 13, 1806, edition of the Balance and Columbian Repository, a publication in Hudson, New York, in which an answer was provided to the question, "What is a cocktail?". It stated that:

“Cocktail is a stimulating liquor composed of spirits of any kind, sugar, water, and bitters — it is vulgarly called a bittered sling and is supposed to be an excellent electioneering potion, inasmuch as it renders the heart stout and bold, at the same time that it fuddles the head. It is said, also to be of great use to a Democratic candidate: because a person, having swallowed a glass of it, is ready to swallow anything else.”

Wow! It has a dirtier connotation than I thought!surprised

Ha ha ha! Yes I do that too and pick up my short legged Schnauzer and put him in bed. Maybe pop 1/2 Xanax and then go over the Mingle threads in my head. My life is so full.flowerforyou

My dad had a tattoo for 70 years that said "Janet:heart: ". When he died it said, $#R&%^ or something all run together.

How depressing....

But Janet was his all that time.

No, I mean that it got distorted is depressing. The tat sounds nice.

Oh, I know. The tattoo was representative of everything else that shriveled up. Bummer, this aging thing.

An early dinner and drinks, take in a Nuggets or Avs game at the Pepsi Center, and then an all night sleepover at my place. Although there will be little sleeping going on.pitchfork laugh
nah its neither team for me but the dinner an drink sounds good lol

Well I'd offer a Broncos home game as an option but after the way they played tonight, maybe not. How about dancing at one of the local clubs after dinner? I'm not a great dancer, but at least I try. Or perhaps a theatrical play at the Buell theater?
nah i don't dance either but can take ya to a Bruins game where we kick ur teams butt lol winking

Well Katz, my date with you would be we'd meet in Las Vegas, do some gambling in the casinos at the MGM, New York New York, and Mandalay Bay, and then we'd take in a show at the Wynn or the Mirage. Cocktails afterwards for a nightcap.

I'll take it as a sign of respect that the date ends with a cocktail. slaphead flowerforyou
