I think if someone is quick to judge you based on your past mistakes, chances are you aren't the only one they judge. These people are hypocrites. Also they probably aren't just judging people with previous drug related issues. Within their so-called perfect existence is something a little more deeply rooted. They are insecure and bringing others down is a way to make themselves feel superior. In reality they just feel inferior. and along that line, some people are quick to judge when they are covering up(or don't want reminders) of their own guilt. |

I believe the Bible should not be subject to interpretation based on the reader’s mood, circumstances and personal agendas. Instead, interpretation should be based on authorial intent. When we read the Bible we should interpret it the way the author intended to be interpreted. (This is not always easy!!) That is not to say that our mood, circumstances and personal agendas will not and should not influence the impact that it has on us as individuals. The same verse read by 10 different people MAY be interpreted 10 different ways however we should ask ourselves “What was the author trying to say here?” There should only be one answer. That one answer might resonate deeper within and speak more personally to 1 or 2 of those 10 based on their mood, life circumstances, etc. and mean virtually nothing to the other 8 or 9 and there is nothing wrong with that but the author’s intent of the message remains the same. now there is truth. the Bible means exactly what it means...it is the Word of God, and it says what he wanted to have us know. it also says that one must believe that Jesus was born of a virgin, condemned to die on the cross, and rose from the dead. you don't have to be specifically christian to believe that, but that belief will ultimately cause change, as most other belief systems will not accept one's support of this view of Christ. the 'free will' part of that is what allows us to choose to believe and accept God's word or not. He does not give us free will to pick and choose what we will accept from his word. you wouldn't join a club if you didn't believe in the mission of that club. God says you either take him at his word-all of his word- or you don't have to. |

ummm ok tina...it wasn't dramatic. you clearly didn't want any posts except how great one thing was. sorry but it's interesting but i made other points to spark more things to think about. have fun with it though lol no, i was just hoping some one else might think it was cool. and one poor soul did-bless his heart. so many of these threads turn into arguments, or stretch way off target...that's just not what i was trying to do. no big whoop. just attempting to share and be part of this great community.

The only thing is causes me to realize is that religious people tend to be extremely superstitous about almost anything. lol ummmm I demand a retraction lol...I'm christian and apparently I am wrong for mentioning other things that it can be applied to in here. now take that back abra lol come on yellowrose. thats a tad dramatic. my only point was the statement i made. i just wasn't concerned with all of the other things. i found a cool thing in the Bible, and wanted to share with anyone else who might understand why i think it's cool. you have made it clear that you don't hold the same appreciation. i'm good with that. |

I still don't see the point of your post....sorry. taking PI and relating it to only one scripture out of many doesn't really have a point (to me at least) and since this is a public forum and there weren't names of who things were directed to....then it was directed to all that wish to comment you don't have to agree. but i wasn't posting a subject to be debated. i just said what i wanted to say. it's not an issue. comment away...but please don't try to incite chaos where none was intended. every post does not need to be debated. |
