Love isn’t what you say, it is what you do. Even so, you still say because you love
Love isn’t being turned on by what you see, but rather by what you see in another's eyes.
Love becomes true when it stops being about “you feeling loved” and becomes about
You loving the feeling that someone else feels loved.
Love doesn’t create insecurity it cures it.

Love cannot be possessed, it cannot be restrained, it can’t even protect.
True love recognizes that unless your most significant other is
complete without you,
they will never be complete with you.

Love hates good byes,
but is willing to say them whenever needed.
True love is rare, worth exploring, and priceless

Love asks questions and seeks details,
not because everything in someone's day is exciting and
Interesting, but because it is a part of who they are.
Love remembers details not with effort, but without,
because Love listens intently.

True love brings out the best in both,
recognizes the best in each,
and strengthens the best in someone even if it is at your expense.
Love isn’t telling the world about who you “have”,
it’s about encouraging another to have the world.
Love isn’t about you becoming someone else's dream,
but it is about you supporting their dreams.
And Love isn’t about reading someone's mind,
it’s about seeking their mind.

That's beautiful! It defines love very closely to my idea of what love is.

Thank you for sharing.

You are welcome and thank you. :grinning:

On a cold New Year's Eve, a poor, young girl tries to sell matches in the street. She is already shivering from cold and early hypothermia, and she is walking barefoot having lost her too large slippers.[1] Still, she is too afraid to go home, because her father will beat her for not selling any matches, and also as the many cracks in their shack can't keep out the cold wind. The girl takes shelter in a nook or alley and sits down.[2]

The girl lights the matches to warm herself. In their glow she sees several lovely visions, starting with a warm stove, then a luxurious holiday feast where the goose almost jumps out at her, and then a magnificent Christmas tree larger than the one at the rich merchant's house. The girl looks skyward and sees a shooting star; she then remembers her late grandmother saying that such a falling star means someone is dying and is going to Heaven. As she lights the next match, she sees a vision of her grandmother, the only person to have treated her with love and kindness all through her life. To keep the vision of her grandmother alive for as long as she can, the girl lights the entire bundle of matches at once.

After running out of matches the child dies and her grandmother carries her soul to Heaven. The next morning, passers-by find the girl dead in the nook, frozen with a smile on her face, and guess the reason for the burnt-out matches beside her. They feel pity for her, although they had not shown kindness to her before her death. They have no way of knowing about the wonderful visions she saw before her death or how gloriously she is celebrating the New Year in Heaven with her grandmother.

i read this book and i cried.

i know what you mean.

As a child, experiencing poverty and homelessness, my life was touched by kindness. Although unfairly distributed, there is abundant kindness and the release of that generosity is only for many, a choice away. Your writing is beautiful and thought provoking. Thank you for sharing.

A beautiful read. I enjoyed it. Thank you

Thank you. I originally wrote it in 2007 and keep it as a life philosophy. I am happy to report I only fail at following this on days of the week ending in “y”. Lol

Love knows no boundaries☺

Of course there are so many definitions of love, right? but I think the love that knows no boundaries is the love most are really seeking.

On a lighter note (more normal for me), my love for chocolate definiely

i love chocolates☺

I am currently campaigning to get chocolate listed as a vegetable. :grinning:

Evans,

I agree with you. However it’s a powerful love that supports even if that support isn’t reciprocated.

waving I have met men like that too msharmony ... and women :-)

When I think of generosity .. seldom is it too do with money or spending .

I have been working on living with a "generous" lifestyle and you are right. I think for most people including myself the most valuable commodity is time. However, money is an effective tool of generosity. In my view, I believe that more important than what I give is why I give. As a young man, I often gave to get something in return. I would be "romantic" in a variety of ways because I assumed that I would be "rewarded". That isn't generous no matter how much I spent in time and money. Generosity is aiding someone with no thought of reward. For me, anonymity in giving is key. Wow.. I rambled and probably way too serious.. I should have just said, "nice post"

Hi jeo .. could be a myth but I was always under the impression many men look at and talk to boobs more than faces biggrin

Sorry for intruding, but I suspect you are confusing men and cuddlefish. My gender is widely known for talking to the soul of a woman while completely focused on her eyes.
I am sure Dolly Parton agrees with you tongue2

Oh, did an internet check.. you are right. Dolly Parton does have eyes. :)

Step away from the sushi and nobody loses a limb...

You say that, but I bet you would share the sushi. I mean if we are honest, who likes sushi? spinach is so much better. I may be off topic here..

Depends upon the person with me... I still owe someone a grain of rice from one sushi outing. *laughing* I LOVE sushi...

Will tackle anyone who comes near my famous 20 pound salads. You guessed it.. Spinach, among other greens..

What can I say? Im feisty.

Very feisty.. lol.. but kudos for liking spinach. I have actually never tried sushi.
