Thinking about buying one

I also rode dirt bikes my entire teenage life, so by the time it came to a street bike I knew what it
was that I wanted. Now for riding a dirt bike as long as you have is a good thing but a street
bike is a different animal. What you need to do is ask yourself what kind of riding you want to do.
You talk about comfort..... a sport bike was never designed for comfort. Also I agree to not go big
for your first bike, down size for a season or two then trade up. Once you figure out what you want
out of a bike then you'll know what to look for.

Well I'm a long hauler from Canada and I usually head south for some pass. In 2007 did the Lolo pass,
beautiful ! In 2008 headed for the Beartooth pass and that was awesome even though the weather wasn't the best that day, South to Cody turned east to the Black Hills and spent 5 days exploring that area . 2010 through the south end of Yellowstone to Cody again and then on down to Cheyenne through the Wind River reserve. From there to Denver as I didn't have a hat from there so that was reason enough . Over to Utah and back up through Idaho into Montana on my way home.
And there I have another 4000 Mi. journey under my belt . Soon I hope (2012) back to Colorado to do the loop on the Million Dollar Highway as it is called . Another pass on my list is the Upper Big Horn . The real trick is to ride the pass on a good weather day . If there are any other must ride routes I would like here
about them for future riding journey's. Happiness is a dry road on two wheels !

Does it take any special skills or training to be a train conductor?

I just saw a job listing for a train conductor position. They will train you and everything. I would have to go to GA. for the training, but they pay for the round trip, hotel, and give a $20 a day for food.

I filled out the app. I hope to hear from them. It sounds like something I may like.

Only thing is during training and probabtion, you're on call as needed 24/7.

Where to start ? I have been a trainman/ conductor for 26yrs and it's a good career but it most certainly
is not without it's pit falls. Special training-yes with plenty of rules, more rules, more rules and special
rules about other rules. Now I'm in canada and the railway life is probably similar. Forget about having weekends off for most of the time, if you don't like nights give it up now as thats were you will spend a lot of time until you get some seniority. If you work the road then you are away from home a lot, and the hours are always staggered as well as the days you work. But as you get some seniority then you will be able to hold better jobs with reg. days off.A Cond./Engnr working the road is at the better end of the scale but you will have more of a steady life in the yard. You want to work on the gang then be prepared for grunt work at first. On the up side you get to work with some really big stuff and you learn to really appreciate nice weather days, sunrises, and a comrade with others in this unique field.

The husband leans over to his wife.....
" Do you remember the first time we had sex together over fifty years ago? "

" We went behind the village tavern where you leaned against the back fence
and I made love to you "

" Yes " she says, " I remember it well "

" OK " he says, " How about taking a stroll around there again and we can do
it for old times sake ? "

" Oh Jim you old devil, thats sounds like a crazy, but good idea! "

A police officer sitting in the next booth heard the conversation and had a little chuckle
to himself, I've got to see these two old timers having sex against a fence.
I'll just keep an eye on them so there's no trouble.

So he follows them.

The elderly couple walk haltingly along, leaning on each other for support
aided by walking sticks....

Finally, they get to the back of the tavern and make their way to the fence.....

The old lady lifts her skirt and the old man drops his trousers.

As she leans against the fence , the old man moves in.......

Then suddenly they erupt into the most furious sex that the policeman has ever seen.

This goes on for about ten minutes while both are making loud noises

And moaning and screaming.

The policeman is amazed.

He thinks he has learned something about life and old age that he didn't know...

After about half an hour of lying on the ground recovering, the old couple

struggle to their feet and put their clothes back on.

The policeman thinks to himself, I've got to ask them what is their secret.

So as the couple pass he says to them, " Excuse me, but that was something else,

You must've had a fantastic sex life together, is there some sort of secret to this ? "

Shaking, the old man is barely able to reply......

" Fifty years ago that wasn't an electric fence "

An elderly couple, Margaret & Bert, moved to Texas.
Bert always wanted a pair of authentic cowboy boots,
So,seeing some on sale, he bought them and wore them home.
Walking proudly, he sauntered into the kitchen and said to his wife,
" notice anything different about me? "
Margaret looked him over. " Nope. "
Frustrated, Bert stormed off into the bathroom, undressed and walked
back into the kitchen completely naked except for the boots.
Again he asked Margaret, a little louder this time, Notice anything different NOW ?
Margaret looked up and exclaimed " Bert, what's different? It's hanging down today,
it was hanging down yesterday, it'll be hanging down tomorrow "!
Furious, Bert yelled, "AND DO YOU KNOW WHY IT'S HANGING DOWN, MARGARET? "
" Nope " she replied.
"IT'S HANGING DOWN, BECAUSE IT'S LOOKING AT MY NEW BOOTS!!!! "

Without changing her expression, Margaret replied," Shoulda bought a hat Bert. "

A man wakes up one morning in Alaska to find a bear on his roof.
So he looks in the yellow pages and sure enough, there's an add for
Bear Removers
He calls the number, and a guy says he will be over in 30 minutes.
The bear remover arrives, gets out of his van. He's got a ladder,
A baseball bat, a shotgun, and a mean old pit bull.
" What you going to do " The home owner asks ?
" I'm going to put this ladder up against the roof, then I'm going to go up
there and knock the bear off the roof with this bat. When the bear falls off the roof
the pit bull is trained to grab his testicles and not let go. The bear will then
be subdued enough for me to put him in the cage in the back of the van."
He hands the shot gun to the homeowner.
" What's the shot gun for " The homeowner asks ?

" If the bear knocks me off the roof, shoot the dog "
