The immune system is wonderful, but it has a limitation: it can't protect you against an infectious agent that your immune system has not encountered before. The purpose and effect of vaccination is to provide a new encounter to "tell" your immune system about a specific infectious agent so that your immune system will "know" about that agent. By refusing vaccination you expose yourself to a greater threat to your health. Furthermore, if you get an infection, you may harm others by exposing them to that infection. Bottom line: Refusing vaccination is foolish. As Einstein is alleged to have said: Unlike genius, stupidity has no limits. Exactly right. But then there are people who believe the earth is flat. So what ya gonna do?

I hate to disagree with the almost unanimous sentiment against vaccination here by noting a fact: the risks of vaccinations are far lower than the benefits of not getting whatever the vaccine protects against. A simple cost-benefit analysis. Exactly right. There is also the idea that if you do catch whatever you're not vaccinated against you can give it to many other folks before you die. |

That morning I had some very minor DYI electrical work to do. Being safety minded I of course shut off the power. A trip to the hardware store and some time later, job done, power on. 3:30 GF calls; "WTF are you!!!!!????" "Sweety it's only 3:30. I'm just now leaving" "It's 5:30 you idiot!!!!" Oh right. Clock runs on electricity. |

The "age is just a number" people who post on here generally fall into two categories;
1. Young men in their twenties who can't hook up with women their own age and believe that older "aunties" are desperate for "company". 2. Scammers pretending to be young beautiful women trying to bilk old men out of their life savings. That said; there are quite a few relationships between people with quite large age differences that work out very well. And quite a number of quite old rich men who marry much younger trophy wives, mainly because they are rich and can afford to do so. And, just for the record, there are no four-hundred year old people living on earth, (except for the well known "lizard aliens" of course). |
