Since most people dont have much luck with meeting locals on JSH how far would you go to meet someone?

My answer..... It would all depend on the person and how good we matched. In my mind no distance would be too far.

Depends on several things. How far she lives. How she looks. What does she have in common with me. Whats the chances we will
actually hit it off long term. Just a little of what I want to know first!

It would depend where the guy lived and where he wanted to end up. I am not that sold on California as far as anything but the climate. The idea of going through a move really isn't appealing though. No way I am going to move someplace remote and do the survivalist thing. If it involves me having to take care of livestock or have to live in a compound I would pass.

I'm going from Montreal, Canada to Agnes Water, Australia. So I can safely say I'd cross the Earth.

In the past I've driven over 1200 miles, (towing a sailboat to boot) just to meet a woman (and take her sailing, of course).

That was only about a year ago.

I've traveled 200, 400, and 600 to meet other women prior to that.

Now, I think the furthest I'll go is to answer my door if they knock on it. And even that might depend on whether or not I'm busy at the moment. laugh

Seriously though, I'm done with the long distance stuff. It's local or nothing now. I suppose that could change if I found an extremely exceptional woman. But I think there's a higher probably that I'll win the lottery (and I don't even play!)

Several years ago I packed my whole life into a couple of suitcases and said goodbye to my family and got on a plane (ticket paid for)to head to New Mexico to meet my phone affair. It was awful, we didn't click at the first sight, despite all the talking and phone sex. Within in 24 hrs I was in Texas for lay over, then took a shower in New Mexico, then flew to St Louis for another lay over, then back to Columbus to go back to work on a Tuesday. (Called in sick on Monday)! I felt exhausted and like a fool. At least it didn't cost me anything but a day of pay and my pride! A well learned lesson ohwell
I suggest you get a room at a hotel and plan wisely for your escape just in case. brokenheart

Always have a plan B

I think I might travel a fair distance but I would not relocate. So what is the point....

Sure, cheap airfare, bring my friends along for a nice weekend. Meet at a central location and see what happens. My bff does it all the time. Its fun. I can move anywhere, my business is mobile.

Good idea on plan b for sure. I didn't have a plan b. I thought with my heart and not with my head. I thought I knew the person. Was I ever wrong. I guess my plan b was if it didn't work out I would just keep on trucking. I sure wouldn't trade anything for the experience, though. Had a heck of a good time after I left there. Gave me back my love for my own little town. Facing family; Begging for my job back; Getting my home back and then getting a better job. Thanks for reminding how crazy I can get. It makes me want to count my blessings.

I once flew from Pittsburgh to Atlanta TWICE!!! It might have worked out but I needed to know he would make the same trip for me and he wouldn't. I would like to think that distance wouldn't matter if I met the right one but now that I have moved to another state for a job, I'm not interested in moving again so it would have to be within driving distance.

I can't see me traveling more than maybe a few hundred miles to meet someone.

I've gone up to 50 miles so far. It depends, too, on if she has a phone and can use it to call me and take calls from me. Most of the people here, I've found, do not know how to use a telephone. It's strange.

If I was in regular phone contact with someone, I'd go up to a couple hundred miles every couple of years. If I was in the neighborhood, I'd detour about 10 or 20 miles to see someone when I travel to West Virginia, central Jersey or San Diego. Otherwise, not that far.

For a regular every day relationship, every week, or every month, I'd prefer someone in the town or two south of me (in between me and work). One town's about 10 miles away and the next is 20.

Geo.
