| Topic: Ladies what if a man makes less then you? | |

I am a 31 year old educated, employed white male. I have held the same job for over 6 years. I make around 25,000 a year and have no kids. Ladies this is the question that I want to ask. When you meet a new man how much does it matter if he makes less money then you? I have encountered this a few times. A girl will be making more then me, and they are into traveling, wine tasting all that yuppie stuff and I because of my more limitied finances am not. Is is just a difference in lifestyles, or are people really that materialisitc?

i personally dont care how much he makes as long as he makes it. i am comfortable as long as the bills are paid, and we are happy.

Money does'nt matter to me.
It is who the person is that matters. (You could be rich- and a jackazz, or poor and perfect.) Besides there are'nt too many poorer than me... if they are- their homeless...

As long as he dosn't want a lifestyle he can't afford I see no problem.

My biggest thing is that he has a stable job... I really don't care what it's doing or how much he makes as long as it's a decent job and he pays his own bills.

Remember that some of us are retired, too.
I was lucky to be able to retire at a very early age. Why the hell not! Boss was a real asshole anyway.

Its been my experience that most women do not care what you make, even though they may say they do. Why do you think so many poor people have kids? Most women dont care about money as far as their lover is concerned.

Money shouldn't matter , but unfortunatly it does for some hence the term "yuppie" It is a way of life to some people...
and that is probably more important to them than actually meeting good people.......We reap what we sew.......... |

I think it depends on his expectations as well. Does he know I make more money? Will that be his scape goat that I have to pay for all the dates? Can he be creative and romantic on a low budget? A mans income should have no bearing on the relationship status. Nor should a womans employment status. I do think that whether they are able to pay their bills may be important in the future if you intend to take the next step. If their credit is poor how will you buy a house? Just my opinion

As long as the bills are paid and he does something productive (like NOT loafing on the couch all day...lol), besides, with what i make anyone can beat that...

Up until last June. That was the norm. I made more than anyone I dated. It was frustrating. Because a few decided that they couldn't live with it and so they wanted end things.
