Yup Flip Saunders is finally gone.

I'm sorry but if all he could do is bring this great Detroit team to the play offs and not go beyond that is very sad at least to me.

I am happy he is gone and hope the Pistons can find some one that can do a better job then Flip has done.

Wow, Flip is out before Hillary.

Flip Saunders added nothing to the Pistons. See what they do with Rasheed Wallace.

Flip added nothing? He only took them to the conference finals three times, twice without Ben Wallace, during a time with a lot of hot upcoming teams in the East. I thought he did a brilliant job keeping them on track after they lost Big Ben, I thought they were going to crumble without him but they fight every year.

Larry Brown took them there also; and won a championship.

What did Flip do in Minnesota with Kevin Garnett? Nothing. Where is Kevin Garnett now? Boston, in the championship.

Flip added nothing.

So...who should Detroit hire?

I would imagine Avery Johnson is on the short list.

Well, Avery did manage to get Dallas to the Finals.....and then got swept by Miami. Oh, and then last year, Dallas had the best record in basketball, and yet lost in the first round. They then lost to the Hornets in the first round this year too. And Dallas has alot of talent on it, but Avery could never get them back to the Finals. Flip might not have taken the Pistons to the Finals, but three straight Eastern Finals is still impressive. Just comparing the guys is all.

Still, Avery would be a good choice for Detroit.

Other than Avery Johnson I cannot think of a good one that is available. Maybe it will an NBA assistant somewhere. Or may Tom Izzo from Michigan State.
