well us single parents have no choice but to work unfortunately so being a stay at home mom is out of the question.
I will say to the women get an education because it will bode you well if something happens in the relationship.

disagree with this message - an education is a great thing to have period. Not just in case something happens in a relationship.

Why make plans for things to fail, ladies make positive plans in your life.

Stuff ()will always happen, so what, brush it off and continue the journey. Dont focus nor live life with the "just in case" mentality.

Be the very best 'you' you can be - and everyday will be great!

women who do not work hurt themselves in the end. women out there, you have to maintain your independence from your man and work or else one day he is going to walk out with someone who does, that is, if he is not already doing that. i see too many women suffer for it.

how about people like my who cant work?? due to medical conditions ??

If you can not work ,you are entitled to a disability pension .
So you get a cheque too .

Why are we content to base decisions on generational, rationalizations? I believe it has nothing to do with any choices.

I think it is up to each couple, and each member of that couple, to decide what is right for them. As people, and in their marriage/family.

It is not for us, or anyone outside their relationship to say. It is not our business.

Fran! We are meeting up at seven, my son is so excited to meet her daughter. I told him she was blonde and he rubbed his hands and said "all right"....

You are right, of course. It is not a societal issue.... it is based on what is right for each couple and their choice of lifestyle.

Having independence is a good thing. It is important to be self sufficient. However in relationships, it is also important to be codependent. Without any codependence long term relationships usually fade with time.

Anyway, there is also nothing wrong with one parent working while the other takes care of the home, and kids. It's all about both partners giving it their all. Although, i guess in my full opinion i do consider the stay-at-home mom or dad to be a full time job. Depends on how you look at it i suppose. The whole point is, do your part.flowerforyou

I believe it has nothing to do with choices brought on by a group.(edit)

I have heard a lot lately about this up and coming generation, their strengths and weaknesses in the future ability to change the world. A classification of a generation,,I believe I can do more by doing right in my life, up close and personal. In regards to this thread. I live as I have to and more openly now, as I want to. It is circumstantial, more so than generational.
