Miss weekends, when I'd wake up super early to do my chores and run outside to play until the sun came down or I was called in.

The Swing (RLS)

How do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
Ever a child can do!

Up in the air and over the wall,
Till I can see so wide,
River and trees and cattle and all
Over the countryside--

Till I look down on the garden green,
Down on the roof so brown--
Up in the air I go flying again,
Up in the air and down!

I loved the swing I had as a child, a rope tied to the branch of a tree with an old car tyre tied to the end of it it, hours of fun.

You looked at my profile? You poor soul, did I scare you ? I spent a great part of my childhood in South America, so I have a cross culture of East Indian, Black (Guyanese, British Guyana) British and Scottish cultures all rolled into one. To say I was confused as a child is making a mild statement, I had to get used to £'s shillings and pence, then there was the American currency combined with the Central Caribbean currencies and the Guyanese currency........Whew!!! Do you remember Tis Was, The Clangers and Button Moon. BTW, I love Birmingham, I'm three quarters of an hour away from you by train.

That is a hard question, my son (24) and I had a conversation only yesterday when he remembered tying a red tea towel around his neck and played "Superman" in his opinion he thinks his sister (19) has no memories of "good times" or just playing for the sake of playing, he said that children of this era do not know how to play unless they have a toy with a battery in it laugh .............He's right !

The endless amount of time, and energy that us kids had. It seemed there was 48 hours in each day, and I had something to fill everyone of them.

Knowing everyone's name on my street.

Not having any cares other than being home on time for lunch and dinner.

Waiting, but not realizing I was, for the Ice Cream Man to come by.

Waking at 6am, and looking forward to the day...lol.. Man, that's changed.

Not needing an alarm clock, or a watch to know what time it was.
