Say you meet someone online and you spend a few weeks chatting and talking to this person and you fall for her/him, and he/she tells you he/she is in love with you too... but then find out he/she has been having sexual partners while this is happening. Would you consider that as cheating? Would you even consider it as having a "relationship" with someone you've never met in person?

It depends on several factors, but I think the most important one is if the word love was mentioned. Since you said it was then you must RUN AWAY. This woman will rip your heart out and eat it for breakfast.

If it's only online chats, then it would be too soon to be talking about love anyway, but if they are having sex with anyone, hopefully it would only be with one person, and that should, in my opinion, be there "partner" in a relationship, so therefore shouldn't be trying to engage online relationships.

Yeah, I'd agree. If he's in love with YOU, nothing else would do!

 grumble I really hate this topic.. lol

The way "I" see it... #1 she/he is cheating on the person they are sleeping with.. by even chatting to you online even saying the "I love you" words. And getting that deeply involved in the communication noway grumble That's taking it WAY beyond friendship.

#2 if he/she is not in a committed relationship and THEN using the words "I Love You" to you.. then in a sense, yes, they're cheating.. those words are for a SERIOUS COMMITTED relationship..

*steps off soapbox"

I'm done.....
