Now we are just over exagerating arent we....................I think the post was a man/woman meaning that you had some type of feelings for them...................im talking about normal human exchanges not extreme exceptions........

And if that isn't brought up long before you get committed into a relationship, you're doing something wrong.

There have been instances that people acquire an allergy later in life.........i would know I am one of those.............yeah conversations dont come the first hour you meet them and what if you had a relationship online and the subject never came up and by then you had developed feelings for them..............then what do you do.........

I wouldn't get that far. I don't develop feelings for a few pictures and some words on a screen. I need a lot more substance than that. It's a good starting point, but that's about it.

And the subject more than likely would come up. I have a picture of my dog and he's mentioned in my profile. If anything if this came up after the fact it would either be by omission or because they simply didn't bother to read my profile which honestly, they probably wouldn't interest me at that point anyway.

If you are just typing things and you only have that then you do get the real person.................there are no distractions in looks or anything around..............if you are emailing someone then your inhibitions are down and so are theres so you do get to see the real person...................and by the way you are looking for substance in this site.............please get off that high horse everyone in this site is on................i either see people who just want to conform to someones postings or they are so wacko you dont want your enemy to meet them............this higher than though mentality is want aint getting you laid or in a relationship thats for sure..........i can say this because I know what it takes to be one............so i have some expertise in that field.................there are really some lonely people in this site for real..............smokin

Wow. Just wow. Get over yourself. Seriously. nowaynowaynoway

I've had lots of pets in my life, and I'd definitely say that if I had a true chance for happiness with a guy, the pets would go if they can't live outside (where they belong ANYWAY). I'm certain that God (or nature) never intended for animals to be trapped indoors.

If I'm dating a man with pets and I can't stand them being indoors and he would never consider them becoming outdoor pets, I wouldn't stay long.

I didn't mean to change the topic, I was just stating my amazement at the possability that someone would value an animal more than a person.flowerforyou

well a animal will give off warning signals if it is going to attack you.....people on the other hand do not!

so i trust animals alot more than i do people

This is my experience also- the thought of abandoning my animals sickens me. No human ever has or will give me the love and loyalty that my pets have. If you'd get rid of an animal who loves you just for the sake of some convenience you shouldn't have one to begin with. I recommend teddy bears for people like that. People will eventually **** you over, animals don't.

If he's allergic to my cats, there's always allergy meds.

Interesting question but I doubt it would come down to an either or type choice....if someone was so in love with their pet or pets they would know how their new boyfriend/girlfriend felt about it long before becoming committed....

I would say the boyfriend or girlfriend would depart long before an actual commitment was made....I agree its part of the package & it would be a given that everyone knew that from early on.....its really not a hard choice....the person with the pet would never be happy with someone who couldn't be happy around their pet & vice versa....

This was one of the better and more down to earth answers. For one I have only had the Cocker Spaniel (Sassy) that I have now for 9 months. I acquired her due to a friend found her rolling under a car on a busy Hwy in front of a Walmart no one ever claimed her. She came to me at the time I had Pneumonia. She has stayed by my side since and is a very loving dog to all.

Now a few years ago I had horses that I had for 17 years. It is very easy to get attached to animals they become our family we think of their well being just as we do anyone else in our family.

With that said if a new B/f or G/f you meet and you really liked them but they did not get along with your kids and voiced it even if you really liked them would you still keep them around?

I would think not.

My dog is part of my family and if that is what keeps me single then the world will not fall apart. I can be happy single just as well as if I had someone beside me. Besides happiness is within, no single person can make you happy that is something you must find within.

And Animal gives Unconditional love with only expecting kindness back forever. Can another guarantee to give you such love I think NOT!bigsmile

It would be different if the b/f or g/f came before the animal but to change my life style or who I'm or what I like to do for another just so they would stay would make me unhappy. Humm then what did I accomplish in the long run. We would end up splitting and I would resent him due to I gave up my dog. noway
