both quotes are very arrogant since they come from members of a very privelidge group....no one is threatening your autonomy or right to self-rule..

against abortion?? get a vasectomy!!

close your legs!!

As I have said, I dont have sex unless I am willing to have children. And if my would be partner does not agree with me one hundred thousand percent on this issue, then I dot have sex with her, as I will not do something to cause a human to be murdered in cold blood.

close my legs? so its my responsibility to not get pregnant? well if its up to me then its my choice what to do about it if I do...as for you..well how nice of you to be such a responsible man...you should spend your time teaching other men to do likewise and spend less time telling me what I should do with my legs and the rest of my body...

Now now you kids! happy That does bring up a good point though. Who do you feel should be ultimately responsible for birth control when two people are involved in a sexually active relationship? My feeling is it should be both parties and the man does have a right and responsibility in fact to inquire and find out what the woman is doing in that respect and how it is being handled. Granted some methods are more obvious than others if they require the "bathroom run" before things become too heated but when a woman is on the daily pill or using postcoital contraception, then the man may be less aware of these methods and how they are utilized. Comments?

 Good answer! Yeah and they are fine. All this stink about condoms. There is really no problem with sensations. Plus, early on in a relationship anyway, they are important for STD concerns.

condoms break...there is no birth control that is 100% effective...just one reason for an unwanted pregnancy...

The real problem is that none of them are 100% effective and pregnancy can still result. The pill is generally very low dosage so in order to be at 98-99 % affectedness, it needs to be taken at nearly the same time every day. Even then, there can be problems associated with it. Plus a lot of women don’t like it due to side effects which could be more than a nuisance. It’s probably still the most widely used at least in the US.

Even having your tubes tied isn't 100% effective.

Tubal ligation procedure? No it isn’t. Vasectomy isn’t either but these procedures are probably so perfected now that for there to be a problem, would be extremely rare. I think they are a good idea if you are done having children or are certain you don’t want them. Have at it. happy

Whether Obama is going to be pro-choice and maintain those freedoms for women I think? Scroll up.

This should be a 2 line thread then. He's pro-choice, but wants limits on late term partial birth abortions.

Well I already mentioned that it is my personal feeling that there would be FAR less instance of later term abortion IF we keep the procedure SAFE and LEGAL for women throughout all fifty states. Women should be able to access it when they require it and not to be forced into some underground slum.

You know what they say about if the shoe fits bigsmile

If you dont like being told to clsoe your legs, and to take responsibility towards YOUR HALF of the issue, then dont tell me or anyone else to get a vasectomy.

The responsibility lies fifty fifty on both sides of the bed. As I have said, if you as a woman do nto want to have a child, then you should bee willing to step forward and say no, I am not having sex. Or no, I am not having unsafe sex. Soemthign to that effect.

If yuo are not willing to choose to either say no, or not without... The you have no business telling men that they need to get a vesectomy if they do not want to have children.

And men, you have no business having sex if yuo are not willing to have a child and help raise the child, or help to make sure it has a decent family (adoption).

And both ARE now reversible procedures too, if yuo happen to change your mind in the future.

and what abuot the would be fathers rights to be a parent? Looking past the issue of murder, right now (for argumetns sake), you agreed earlier that it should be BOTH parties responsibility to prevent if they dont want children. So what if the man WANTS to be a father, or at least is willing to be one, and thus does not worry about protection aslong as his parnter doesnt want it?

Dotn you think he should have the right to decide wetehr or not he can be a father?

It IS America's business to protect children. Stepping it up.

Sad to hear such ignorant comments.

AGREED. America should be protecting children...even the preborn.

We are digressing when we think life can so easily be thrown away.

That's a woman's POV. Like it or not, not everyone agrees that abortion is the only answer.

You don't like being told you should have a vasectomy, yet it was ok for you to tell a woman to keep her legs closed? Many women do take birth control in order to not have kids. If a man doesn't want to have kids, can't he do something as well?
