Topic: Is Jesus God?

I ask this because the bible has always caused confusion for me, too many inconsistencies and contradictions.

Is Jesus God? Isn’t Jesus the son of God? Many passages in the bible say he is. Does God say Jesus is God? What about Exodus 20:3, “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” ?

Just asking? Better to ask then not ask.

No of course not. What ever gave you that idea?

Jesus is a fictional character in a fictional book.

In a word, No... Jesus The Christ is not the same as "Yahweh” (Jehovah) who is the Self-Existent Eternal God. Who is The Father of Jesus.....

However, Jesus The Christ was present at the creation.

A Virgin birth sound far-fetched?..... Man is all the time getting closer and probably already has, suceeded in manipulating a single Human Cell, into a Living Human Being, without benefit of Human male Sperm.

Christ continually referred to "My Father" as "The Father" in heaven e.g.

John 14:21(KJV)

21He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

IF you are right, I will have lived the life of a slave to hard work and a morality given to mankind by inspiration of a sure belief in GOD;

IF you are wrong, I will die with a clear conscientous, and will have inherited eternal life.biggrin

I'm right. Deal with it. bigsmile

Just kidding.
no i'm not
yes I am
no i'm not
yes i am

Just because I say that Jesus is NOT GOD does not mean I don't believe in a higher power, the Prime source of all creation.

Jesus is not God.
The New Testament is a fictional work.

Was a belief in a God the only reason you did that?

Are you saying that you didn't believe in God you would have chosen to live a different lifestyle? huh

We're you chomping at the bit to do all sorts of things that you actually refrained from doing because you felt that they might displease a God?

What will happen when you go to heaven?

Will you have to keep up the charade and pretend to do God's will when all the while you'd really rather be doing other things? huh

I could never understand that line of thinking.

If I have to be someone other than who I am to make God happy then clearly God doesn't like who I really am. And obviously I wouldn't be happy with who God is either.

So why pretend?

I'll just be honest with God and say, "Here I am. Just as I am"

He can decide to take me or leave me. I'm not going to bend over backwards to try to win his favor. If he doesn't like me just as I am, then I guess he just doesn't like me.

Besides, I'm not sure I'd want to go to a heaven were a bunch of people are just doing God's will when they'd really rather be doing something else. Seems to me that frustration would eventually culminate to a head and then there'd be another rebellion in heaven all over again.

Maybe the next time around you'll get to be the fallen angel.

Well, let's face it. Mankind is known for writing religious mythologies. There are tons of them. There were plenty of them that sprang from the Mediterranean region.

In fact, almost all of them had God's who were appeased by blood sacrifices, so that myth is pretty well established to be the sign of human imagination.

Why any real creator would just coincidentally use that same method of appeasement is truly a good question. I personally think the religion is just full of hallmarks of all the other manmade myths of the region.

Seems to me if there was a real God who wanted to write a book at least he'd think up something new and different.

The key to it all is this remark:

IF you are right, I will have lived the life of a slave to hard work and a morality given to mankind by inspiration of a sure belief in GOD;

Its the slave to hard work and moral guidelines that give you a clue to the purpose of religion.

To keep the slaves in line and to keep them working hard and subservient to the almighty lord and master....the slave lord, which is the church and the establishment.

Free yourselves slaves.

The New Testament is pure fiction.

A new day is here.

So was he on stand-by in case mankind fell from grace? Or was man's fall from grace preplanned? huh

Was Jesus the "Son of God at the beginning of creation?"

If so, who was his real mom? Clearly Mary hadn't even been created yet.

Jesus being the "SON" represents the spirits of mankind.

The son represents the creation.. Us.

We were there at the beginning of creation.!happy

No, belief in GOD (Not fear of going to hell) and the Miracles I have witnessed as a Soldier, Police Officer, Firefighter/EMT, have only strengthened my beliefs....

Even my own personal experience of having 4 arteries becoming clogged... one 80%, one 85%, one 95% and the last 100%, yet my heart suffered NO damage, of any kind.

Two of the three top Cardiac Surgeons in the U.S., performed the Surgery on me and cannot explain by any known scientific "theories".... biggrin

Their hands did the work, but where did the knowledge and dexterity to do it come from??

Some would have me believe from what was once a tadpole...noway biggrin

I'm never impressed by how God saves people's lives.

If being in heaven with God is the ultimate place to be then why would you thank God for keeping you trapped on the earth?

As a logical argument this fails miserably. The fact that a so-called "miracle" happened, does not prove that it was caused by what you believe in. In fact, the very nature of a "miracle" is that it's source cannot be proven.

The simplest answer to your last question would be: From the application of their study and experience.

Then why don't those two Doctors just say that, instead of saying: "It's one of GOD'S Miracles we can't explain"biggrin
