For all out there in this single world....is it just me er is there nothing but a lot of hell in this dating world thingy
 ....on-line particularly  and I just want to know what everyone else thinks and has to say about dating and on-line dating.  What things do you like and hate about it. What are all of you individually looking for. Maybe this can help strike some new sparks on Mingle  ....then again....MutualMatch was a bust so ...go figure.

On-line is the worse when it comes to experiencing dating, very few work out for a long-term existance and even less start. On that note, I'm going to spend less time here and more time at a coffee shop or library.

my only problem with online is al the great guys live so far away and after three failed ldr i wont do another.
the dating scene sucks all together. but OH well. |

I think it's interesting to talk to lost of new people and see who all is out there. In respects to dating I guess it has its possibilities of being really awesome but also really not awesome. *shrugs* Things work out differently for everyone.

To many people who are not single, no one is brave enough to meet face to face, is just a back and forward messaging thing and wasting time , lies about they pictures (somebody put up a picture from 10 years ago).What can I say ? You need to be really lucky to find somebody REAL. |

Agree with coffee shop,etc. Online dating is good in theory,but I'm old fashioned. I would rather introduce myself to someone I am interested in. It's better to have fun with friends online than to throw a cyber line out to see what kind of fish I can reel in. To those who have been lucky enough to hook up, I applaud (and a little envy),but I am not in a position to fly around the country every time a message makes my heart flutter. Not Baa-humbug, just realistic.

and whatever happens, i know already that he has changed my life. of course he is 223 miles away from me...but....hes so awesome and the connection is so good...it doesnt matter ya....we got dsl, lol |

I've given up on meeting anyone on line -- after reading a billion vapid profiles, a billion posts displaying the grammar and spelling skills of a drunken wombat stuck in an X-ray machine, the shallowest, most judgmental, most unthinking, most stuck-inside-the-box mentalities, the complete lack of anything resembling the slightest inkling of intelligence or creativity, everybody saying and writing the same thing, in lockstep ("I'm laid back and easy-going" x a trillion) -- enough. The person I'm looking for is not here, has never been here, and will probably never be here. There has to be something better in the real world. I hope. |

One problem is that a lot of people aren't honest about what they want and/or who they are. For example, I've met lots of guys who claim they are looking for a new relationship, but then they admit they're still hung up on an ex. Umm, maybe it's just me, but I don't think that's going to work, lol. I gave up on internet dating, that's why I'm just here for friends and the forums. Less chance of disappointment that way.
