Are the food sources being poisoned by those in control as another method to control the masses?

a lot of countries refuse to let food from the states inside their borders
that should tell ya something |

I was thinking in particular of substances like artificial sweetners that we consume in large amounts and probably make us very sick. And, the possibility of the FDA taking over the selling or distribution of vitamins and supplements. And, the flouride in the water that has been shown to do nothing for dental health, but has very negative health effects on the body.
I'm going to get some applebutter today. |

a lot of countries refuse to let food from the states inside their borders that should tell ya something It would seem that with all the progress made by modern medicine we would be healthier and smarter than ever. The opposite seems to be happening. |

It's like eating a hot dog....
![]() But I eat those, so I can relate to not caring. I don't use vitamins or fluorinated water. My doctors have discouraged me from using them on myself or my child. However, in New England flouride is still very much used..... but they also have lead paint in houses.... I try to use Splenda as much as a I can... but I am not a huge fan of soda, I don't chew gum.... |

almost all our water out here is well water and not flourinated (but the natural arsenic level is kinda high)
I used to use artifical sweetners and then one day my friend asked me if I would rather have a spoonful of sugar or a spoonful of chemicals that kinda taste sweet. I use sugar now |

If you use any kind of highly processed food (anything boxes, bagged, frozen or canned), especially anything that's artificially colored or flavored, they are filled with chemicals that are poisonous. But, because they are not labelled as being "food" but as "preservatives," it's ok to put them in your food (our tax dollars at work).
I'll admit to using some processed foods but I try to stay away from many of them on a regular basis (except for my diet coke, hopelessly addicted, oh and oreos). |

Have you seen the commercials defending high fructose corn syrup?

Yup, and people are gullible enough to believe it. And the thing is, it's probably true, a little is most likely fine. The problem is, it's in just about every processed food, so that little becomes a lot relatively quickly. And that's what they DON'T tell you.

Why must they put the caramel colouring in it?

Why must they put the caramel colouring in it? Because it makes it look more visually appealing. Something's natural color or flavor isn't good enough, hence the need for the artificial stuff. A couple of years ago, I went off all processed foods altogether, for probably more than a year. I baked everything (ok, I'll admit, I wasn't working at the time either), cooked everything from scratch, etc. Didn't go organic, never felt the need to do that, but I did do a LOT of shopping at Trader Joes. I'll tell you, I have rarely felt better, my thought processes were clearer, I had more energy, didn't feel as sluggish both mentally and physically. It's amazing what such a seemingly small change made. And, it wasn't any more expensive and really, not much more time consuming for the most part. Since I've gone back to work, I've gotten lazy but I often think I should do that again. |

Trader Joe's is a great place to find better packaged foods. Boxed cereals, canned chili and baked goods.
I think it's amazing how these things that are added to our foods impact our thinking as much as our health. |

I love TJ's, most of their stuff doesn't have all the chemical stuff in there and it still manages to taste good! Well, I could live without some of the twig and stick cereal, but a lot of it was really good ![]() |

Since this topic has become more about food choices in general, I am wondering what people think/do about the cost of eating healthy. It seems very unfair that it is more expensive to eat healthy foods than unhealthy foods. I mean I could eat Top Ramn and Kraft Mac and Cheese all week for next to nothing.
