A regular work out routine?
What does it consist of?

So who is taking some kind of classes or enrichment programs? What are they?

How many of you do volunteer work or any kind?

What are the ages of your friends and do you include all of your diverse friends in all friendship gatherings or do you keep them separate?

Figured this place could use some REAL questions.

Although I haven't worked out in a while because of an injury to my back, I will be back at the fitness center 3 days a wk and riding a bike 5 mi each time starting in January..
I do some volunteer work at the VA clinic here
I have friends of all ages from 24 on and most of my friends are younger as I like doing younger things, parasailing, hang gliding, riding motorcycles and diving are some of my favorites..

I go to the gym about 5 days a week sometimes more. My workout routine is 30 minutes EFX machine or treadmill, 15 minutes weights or resistance machines, and I also do spinning classes (biking) 3x a week but I just got back into the gym thing after going to school and clinicals this summer. So I'm taking it easy, planning on working up to at least 1 1/2 hours of gym time once I get my stamina back. Don't do any volunteering since I work but used to volunteer for the library, shelving books. My friends are all ages. But I prefer to hang out with people that like to do outdoorsy stuff, hiking, biking, fishing, sightseeing. Not a party person, so not into hanging out in bars or drinking.

I do water aerobics a couple of times a week. I fell and broke a hip a little over a year ago and had 2 surgeries in 11 months.
I don't volunteer now, have in the past.
My friends are mostly around my age, some are younger. I've only lived here 3 years so don't have as many friends here as in TX.
I like your questions and look forward to reading more posts.

My workout program consist of two wheelbarrows full of horse poop a day. Lifting fifty pounds of horse feed once a week and fifty pounds of shaving twice a week. Lifting bales of hay that may weigh 30 to 35 Pounds. Thats enough of a workout for me.

My riding friends range from the age of 23 to 65. We are a very diverse group. We get together about 4 times a year without the horses. This Friday is our Christmas get together. Sometimes when we ride we also have children who ride with us all. Ranging in the age of 5 to 15 years. They also come to the get togethers.

I am on my feet from 7am to 4pm five days a week. Why on earth would I want to pay somebody to go and exercise?

I usually work 45 to 50 hours a week. I'm constantly on the go at work. I try to walk after work about 45 minutes a day, weather permitting.

I've taken some classes at a local community college. Not as many as I like, but considering the way I work, I don't have the time to take classes right now.

My friends range in age from 25 to 70. I do try to include everyone in get-togethers.

Horray for the ladies. Can't keep 'em down for long. Good on everyone of you, but where are the guys?

motowndowntown: Thanks for responging. I might agree with you but it doesn't work that way.

Do you know that the toughest road for a man is to live to be 65. After that they are likely to make it to 75. Men, overall, have less illness than women, but tend to have fatal ones, which is why, men have a tougher time makeing it to 65.
(illness, such as cardiovascular, cancer and such)

One of our faults is that we think being busy is exercise. Without a regiment of stretching, and aerobics to keep your cardiovacular in shape, artheritis and internal diseases will getchya.

It was nice to see you all, keep it up - and motown,(love the music) work up a sweat on a regular basis and stretch EVERY part of your body. Live longer, feel better.

I've started working on regaining my life by take health supplements and a fat burning product.

Work out 3 times a week at the gym riding bike 6 miles each time. (minimal workout compared to what I used to do)

Work a full time job with lots of after hours responsibilities. Love teaching music.

I don't have a lot of close friends, but have friends from the many different places I been in my life. Since I'm single I've started mixing them up a bit at social gatherings. I just make sure everyone knows someone besides me as the hostess. I've only recently started entertaining again after having my house on the market for a year. Now that I'm in my new place, I'm enjoying entertaining again.

Volunteer? I do a lot of that with the kids I teach. Some through church although that is more limited now that I'm on my own. Hope to get back to that some day when I'm not working so many hours.

I've taken classes in the summer for the last 10 years. I'm celebrating not taking any classes this summer by taking my parents on a road trip that they would no longer do by themselves. Should be fun.

Thanks for posting this thread.

I am a mechanic on some very heavy equipment, railroad and mining. I do work up a sweat on a regular basis and stretch and strain every part of my body dayly. That is why I do not see any reason to pay to go to a gym.
