When the keys started sticking on an old Compaq armada m700 I'd pop the
keys off and push them back on. It was easy and it worked. Once in a
while a little cleaning was necessary, too.

But I don't know if all laptop keys go back on so easy, so I wouldn't
recommend doing what I did unless you talk to someone with the same
computer.

If you are in a bind and really need to enter a 'p' and it just won't
go, you can hold down the ALT key, type the number 112 on your number
pad, and then release the ALT key. It has to be your number pad (not
the numbers above the letters on your keyboard), and 'numlock' must be
on. Oh, and for a capital P, use the number 80. Of course, you could
also use your mouse to cut'n'paste a 'p'.

Or, hell, just tyqe using the letter 'q' instead. We'll have no qroblem
reading it.laugh

he gave good advice not all keys go back on the same way. compressed air
will clean debris from under a key but if it is sticking due to
something that was spilled on it you probably will need to remove the
key and clean it properly. Shy of key removal for cleaning you may want
ot be sure that all the sides of the key are clean with rubbing alcohol
and a paper towel and something thin like a ruler or credit card.dampen
the paper towel with the alcohol do not soak it. then put the towel over
the edge of the cc or ruler and use it to clean the sides of the keys.

Just a thought. if you need a new keyboard for it you may want to
consider going to walmart and buying one that can plug into the back or
side of the laptop.

i would suggest removing the p cover

get blown out real well

and replace the cover

it should be fine hopefully

(any compressed can of comp air will do the job)

That is good advice about the ALT thing but lap tops do not have a key
pad.

They may not have a keypad but theya ll have numbers keys above the
lettered keys.

That should work just fine for them as well.
