I think some women do .

However I wacked mine about 3 months ago.

I think I look better with my hair above my shoulders.

I felt to old to have my hair so long, which it was, very long.

Men which do you prefer?

Women how do you feel having long hair after a certain age?

I get a lot of compliments on my hair.

This is the longest my hair has been since I was in my early
20s..longer, even. It's about halfway down my back now. I have it cut in
long layers and keep it trimmed, usually. I have had very short hair
before, and don't look good at all.

It's a hassle to wear it down when it's windy, cuz it's all over the
place.

Usually in the summertime I have it pulled up into a ponytail. If I'm
going out for no specialreason, I just wash it and let it dry naturally.
If I'm "dressing up," I wash it and blow dry/style it.

Very easy to maintain. I could never see me in a hairstyle that required
daily styling or, God forbid, a trip to the beauty parlor.

Heard a talk show on women's fashion state, after 50, hair should be no
longer than the head, framing face or up.
I think it is a personal thing.

I had my hair very long a few years ago, I cut it all off to donate to
"Locks of Love". I kept my hair short for the last 4 years, but now I am
growing it back. I miss all of the different styles I could do with it.
At work, we are required to pin the hair close to the head so no-one can
grab it. Also the requirement is much shorter in then I am comfortable.
In the mean time, if I want a long curly ponytail, I can pin a
hair-piece in. They have come a long way with fake hair-pieces some look
and feel like real hair.

I sure hope when I reach that age my hair looks good. My hair is WAY to
thick to cut it short. Plus I can not see me with short hair. It has
been long for far too long.

My daughter has enough hair for five people. Literally. Her hair used to
be down to her waist. She's got it cut just past her shoulders now,
which I guess is still considered long. It looks great!

Jean it sounds like she has hair as thick as mine. mine is almost down
to my wast and to think it takes me about 35 to 40 minutes just to brush
it. Not even going to go on about my hair products or anything. I can't
even really wrap my fingers around it. I think I have about 4 to 5 heads
of hair on my head.

Yeah, whisper, it's really thick. She even cuts it short underneath (and
you can't tell) because it's so heavy it gives her a headache. And the
interesting thing is, it's straight as a stick.

I got my hair thinned once and it just grew in thicker. I do not
complain about it though. Cause I know there are people out there that
would kill to have this kind of hair. There is days I wish it was
straight but hey what can I do about it. I tried to straighted it myself
and gave up after about half an hour of feeling like I was getting
nowhere.

I feel that long hairon over forty women really pulls your face down.
Short and conrolled messy is the way to go. Dark hair is aging too.
Look at Demi Moore. If one must have long hair after 40, then pull it up
and off your face in a pony tail.

It doesn't pull your face down if your face is currently up! My hair is
medium dark chestnut auburn (always has been). I look completely washed
out in light-colored hair.

Jean, I have a sneaking suspicion you're a bit younger that I. I just
prefer hair off the face, maybe a head band. I might mention that I'm
5'2" When it's long, I look like a little cave woman made outta fur.
Zero, you be quiet; you've got hair to die for.

Yep, that I am. I thought you were around my age. You look FABULOUS!
