Because of the strange fluctuation of temperatures we've had this winter, please be careful walking outside. We've had quite a few days of sub-zero weather as of late, but yesterday we had 50 degrees. Snow that had not yet been cleared before it started melting had re-frozen underneath, creating a very slippery ice pack. I was clearing the snow off my parents' driveway yesterday (the lower half of which is on a slight incline), and the ice underneath caused me to slip and fall on my left side.
I think I broke my ass. Since it was already cracked, the idea would not be completely impossible. |

Here in N.Y. we are experiencing almost the same cr*p....21/2 ft of snow for 3 days of digging & shoveling....now yesterday it warmed up to 50* and poured rain half the day! We have flood warnings. Tonight wind and freezing temps are predicted. |

I live in Texas & we rarely get snow or ice but I still have to watch my step...we have 4 dogs...one of them is a Mastiff...

I feel your pain Had to work in it all day not only did I fall twice and I had Ice cleats on my boots (they dont work to well when they get packed with slush) but the rain  somehow soaked through my rain coat and soaked me thank god it was in the 50's

Yeah, freeze, thaw, freeze, thaw, freeze again....
But it never thaws out long enough to actually dry out. I would do better to get around it I wore ice skates everywhere. |

The path I shoveled snow from filled with 4 inches of water from the melting. The ground is still frozen & there's no place for the water to go, so it froze. Now I am walking in the snow to avoid the ice.
I am in Wisconsin also. |

I think it's comical to watch people (myself included) do the balancing act when they have to walk on the ice. You can just see the look on their faces concentrating hard on which part to place their foot.
I'm not too good at it and always misjudge and end up doing the "arms flailing in the air" trick, trying to regain my balance and end up flying up in the air landing on my butt or on some other body part that ends up hurting for days! |

Thanks for a warning. My director was on icy ground and was concerned as no one takes care of safety issues. Just a note-iqvc sells something that slips over your shoes/boots and pierces the ice. I suggested it to my boss. There's more than one type. Be safe!
