Has anyone ever been propositioned by a friend of their ex(or soon to be ex)....for romance, intimacy, etc. just so they could acquire information from you for your ex?

what did you do to deal with that?

Any friends of my ex are off limits....rule in life. Just as any ex of a friend would be...so that would not be a problem...and the older you get, the less drama there is...seems we go our separate ways and leave it at that

Yeah. I was moving out of an apartment I shared with a guy right after college. His buddy Rick showed up and starting telling me all this sht about my ex, what he did, said about me, etc.

Then he asked me out. But I felt it was a ploy, and I told the guy no. Actually, what I said was, I thought you were supposed to be Eric's friend? You come here and trash talk him, then try and get in my pants? Wow... no wonder you are single. Thanks for stopping by......

In men's perhaps defense however, I could actually see the situation where the friend of your ex was always attracted to you but silent, out of respect for both of you. Then came to you since now YOU would be a friend, and NOT badmouthed, or told you bad things, or was in any way a "gossip", and told you how he felt about you, and tried to go out with you. Does that make any sense??????

Yeah Mag, I see that, but it is off limits. Him even acting on it shows he is not a good friend. And a man who isn't a good friend is not good relationship material.

I have a pretty tight circle of friends and we all agree to a man/woman that we dont touch friends's Lovers or Ex's. We have stuck together that way and life goes on.

this is my basic understanding of the whole lines you don't cross buisness

but after one seemingly innocent phone call from his friend asking how the kids and I were and what was going on with my ex and I

then the next day I get a phone call from my ex saying I'm trying to get with his friends, "did I think he wouldn't find out?" which isn't even the case

and this pattern repeats itself roughly every two weeks..I get a phone call asking how we are blah blah..always was kind of interested in you blah blah...I say yes thats nice but its wrong...24 hours later, my ex calls harassing me. I'm beginning to think I should just stop answering my phone all together...it would be so much easier to deal with if they didn't keep calling from different numbers

its ridiculous..the last phone call I got asked if I knew anything about this legal issue that my ex got into, I don't know...and at this point I really don't care

but my ex seems to think I have this weird power where everything that goes wrong somehow has to do with me ...like when he found out he was getting deployed he called and said that I had somehow made a phone call and gotten him transferred to a unit that was deploying..I mean really if I had that kind of power....

Get a restraning order on him. Then when he calls you, have him arrested. That should stop it.

in the process of a protective order..more for the children, but thats another story...

the thing is I can't get a restraining order unless he shows up here..and he's not exactly allowed to leave the county he is in..court order.....his county is roughly 7 hours away

some of the protective and even reporting measures, have shown to be more difficult than they should be...simply because he is in uniform or has one rather

I can't even tell you how many times the cops have been called on him for things he has done to me and even the kids, and they look at me and say "well, this kind of thing happens, there is nothing we can do about it"

and they walk away, like I'm supposed to accept that myself or my children should have visible hand prints and bruising for weeks at a time.. I don't care what you went through during deployment it never makes it okay to do that to your kids...

Is changing your number to an unlisted one a feasible option?
