Its gonna get better. Even if Republicans dont want it to hah. Time will tell and its going to, no matter what is said.

That's right!
Whether they like it or not.
Its the American People who want control of "our" Government!

The Republicans can either be with us or they are against us.
Against us and they must go...

You might want to keep in mind who has had the keys to chicken coup for the last 8 years. Who mislead the American people. It would seem that Bush and the Republican took care of the Rich and left everyone else out in the dark and now you want to blame the Democrats, Republican has been denial about the problem and the the American finally called them on the lies.

Why is it everytime someone puts the word "Big" in front of another word it immediately becomes evil? Big Oil, Big Energy, Big Finance, Big Business, Big Peanut Butter etc

All except for one, Big Government..

Many here seem to be infactuated with Big Government.. why is that?

I dunno..

ACtually I think it's a hell of a thing what the Republicans did today. I'm glad to see them grow a little backbone and stood up to what's got to be one of the biggest expansions of government to date.

I hated the business back in October but $21MM to re-sod the lawn at the Lincoln Memorial? Really?? that's what's going to break the mallaise?? wow..

Does anyone have any idea how much money a Trillion Dollars is??

If you started spending a million dollars a day the day Caesar was killed in the Forum, you'd still have 700 some years to go before you were broke...

The Republican Party is full of Un-Americans.
They want to tell Americans what they want despite the results of the Elections.
They are trying to control the will of the people in favor of Large Corporations.
They have to go.
Vote them out one by one if necessary.
Two years gives us another chance to be rid of a few more.
Give your vote to a third Party rather than the Republicans....

The Republican Party is full of Un-Americans.

LOL there were more Dems Against it than Repubs who supported it Un-American HA HA HA HA For not supporting a Stim...I mean Porkulus bill most of this bill will not even take effect for 4-8 years Keep Drinking that Kool-aid Fanta...Conservatism in 2010-2012

Extreme conservatism is dying a slow painful death because people are learning what it really means. It means that the religious run the country with no respect for those unlike them, it means that the well to do get cart blanch to support those like themselves and to hell with all others, it means that ideology is the call of the day with no regards to the price everyone pays, it means that America becomes pasteurized so the powerful all fit one mold, etc....

Until conservatives make the changes with the times they will be the underdogs.

I think it would be wise to separate the neoconservatives from the conservatives. Conservatism is what we need and haven't got in decades. You have the neoconservatives, who like most of the left wing, support war, government expansion, overspending, supression of liberties, etc.

Fiscal consrvatism, mixed with social liberalism, would be a breath of fresh air for us all i think. The problem is that people are oversimplifying republicans and democrats. The overlap is so huge we had two "opposing" candidates for president with nearly the same agenda.

Fanta, i seem to remember the majority of democrats supporting the bailout plan both times. In fact, the house republicans almost saved our asses by voting it down. Problem is a few got bought, or were panicked into voting it through again.

You people need to realize 2/3 of democrats are just as responsible for the failing economy, the wars overseas, the healthcare problems, the education problems, etc.

We, as a country, will fail if we keeping dumbing ourselves down to believe that "republicans are bad, democrats are good". Take that attitude and throw it out the window with racism and discrimination.

Honestly i've been rather impressed with Obama. I was surprised when he froze salaries in Washington, and even more suprised when he started going after lobbyists.

These are positive things. But they are small things. As far as the economy is concerned, he is in WAY over his head.

If he just concentrates on keeping washington more honest i will be happy. Anything else i see him doing more harm than good.

Don't get too happy, the experts say that if they do not flood the economy with money we will fall into depression. Those who have studied the last depression say that is the mistake Hoover made, not flooding the system with money.

You have Bush to thank for this, he helped it with the war and his agenda.

Not really. The war would have been an expense we could have taken if not for the liberal housing market and over-inflated tech stocks' decline during the Bush presidency. And the war is far more important that giving a house to a person who can't make the house notes.. We do still have a strong 'rent' system in place.. ;p None of that matters if we let terrorists kill off the population, but maybe that's what liberals want.. Americans to die. hmmm.

The one question I have is "Why would you liberals/democrats here (or anywhere) even remotely care how house republicans vote now to begin with"? If you didn't realize it, the legislation still passed (as will all democrat legislation)in the house without them (for the time being). Is there some concern this strategy might fail and you will have nobody else to blame? In fear democrats may lose the majority in the house/senate during the mid-term elections? Appears so.

Kudos to Giocama "il pescatore".... cast out that line and reeeeeeeeeel em on in. Remora (suckerfish) for dinner. laugh

Blech, Right, Left, it's all about the Globalists doing whatever they have to in order to finish bankrupting the US, killing the middle class is in full swing.

As far as the GOP voting no, need I remind you that they did the same thing for the bailout. Then the Senate stuck some bribery money in the bailout and TA-DA the majority of the Globalist loving Republicans jumped right on board.

Those who didn't take bribe money were threatened with Martial Law.

woohoooooooo !!!...

Barack Obama's pork-stuffed $825 billion stimulus bill passed the House this evening, but it didn't gain a single vote of support from the GOP.

Not a one.

The Republicans complete unwillingness to vote for the bill is a blow to the new President, who spent a considerable amount of time on Capitol Hill this week lobbying for votes.

Obama failed miserably. The controversial spending package passed entirely with Democratic votes.

11 Democrats crossed party lines to oppose the bill with Republicans, which has prompted the the GOP to tell media, "the only bipartisanship was in opposition to this bill," as Rep. Mike Pence (R.-Ind.) in a statement.

It should be noted that the new House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R.-Va.), who is in charge of corralling and as his title dictates, whipping votes, surely played lead role in this feat.

Now the bill will be sent to the Senate, where Obama said he'd like to see 80 senators vote for the bill. That may be difficult. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell seems to be following the House GOP's lead. He issued a statement after the House vote titled "Bipartisan rejection of a partisan plan."

Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution reads...

The Congress shall have the Power to declare War...NOT THE PRESIDENT !...

so this is bipartisan change, eh?

I think you need to read the whats in this package before we start hocin' the Republicans...they made the right move...this is about growing the Democratic Party...NOT...the economy...paybacks to Acorn....4 billion dollars...birth control 400 milion dollars...federal green cars...global warming research...start tuning into Fox...where you'll get the truth !!...the Republicans offered a bill...that cost half as much money...that would have created twice as many jobs...in half the time...

Yes.. The same liberals (on kool-aid) who were against spending on something that keeps us safe are ALL FOR spending to bail out lazy Americans who haven't handled business properly. I can see that "temporary" (it won't last, you'll spend it and it'll be gone) money in their pockets is more important than safety in the country. They must not have known anyone in the WTC bombing. That's sad.

Here..take a look if you dare, but I doubt any liberal reading this forum will actually take the time to cut and paste. Maybe Obama could come do it for you. Notice the big govt. countries and average income of the so-called middle class. The only dark green countries left are the ones who have fought against big govt.

http://siteresources.worldbank.org/INTPOVERTY/Resources/WDR/English-Full-Text-Report/map.pdf

You guys definitely should take a look at what was in this huge spending effort. But the dems know you won't. You'll blindly follow. Big govts. exist in China, Russia, and France. And if you want our society to be as poor as them, keep voting the way you have. The people are poor, not the govt. they have rich govts., but the people don't have that money--they have poor healthcare and have to go without the things we as Americans enjoy. Again.. investigate it.

I find it very ironic that they haven't changed the name of the party by now. It sure isn't very liberal to try to control the media, in any way. Sure, they suck a lot of the time, but thinking people take them for what they ARE, not the final say so on anything.
By now, I just hope that we still have elections, and a whole lot of other things, 4 years from now. I know it won't be much if barry keeps getting his way, and I have a pretty good picture of what his way will end up looking like. I understand how the younger voters can get caught up in the BS hype, but more experienced people remember it was that way with every other one in their time, and just how many of them did not live up to the expectations. I never had any illusions about barry improving anything in this country, so my best case scenario is that there are still elections, and a few shreds of something else for a new president to work with, and that by then someone who cares about this country overall, first and foremost, will come forward and run for the office.

I absolutely, positively LOVE it!!! Liberals can't be fiscally responsible, and it's just sooo funny that this is happening. It proves that none of their whining and complaining about Republicans solves problems! Whining and complaining never brings solutions! It's pointless and that's all their party has left, whining and complaining... lol!!!

I don't think any right wing nut has room to even mention fiscial responsibility. The right wing nuts blew every penny of our surplus in less than a year and replaced it with a deficit that grows by some three billion dollars every day. Get the log out of your own eye before you bother yourself with the splinter in the eye of another.
