It's because we've been programmed to believe that you're only at your most attractive when you're in your twenties and that if you're NOT married or at least hooked up by then, you're automatically considered an "old maid" or "old curmudgeonly hermit".

I am 46...and I really enjoy being this age...old enough to know better but too young resist..I don't have too many problems with finding a date..

It was the years from 31 to 47 that were tough. 48 and on...no problems!
