an online community that had fake users, not scammers or anything like that, just fake accounts to make the community look more active than it actually is to encourage people to join.

I believe a large number of dating sites and online communities have fake profiles to boost their perceived popularity, especially when they are starting up. It sucks but its business.

You know I often wondered that about this site. I mean just look at the home page, you see testimonials from these users that you never see on the forums..........

I find that and interesting habit but it is old as time that people pretend to be someone they are not so that they would do it on line does not surprize me. I have a hard time just keeping up being one person so I don't know where they get the energy.
