"McCain surrogates have taken to drawing attention to Obama's middle name, Hussein – a tactic that plays into racist assumptions that Obama is a Muslim with anti-American leanings, according to critics."

This is taken from the article posted by Winx.

I never knew Muslim was a race. This is how ridiculous the race argument has become.

McCain Lost.. Obama is President. Who gives a rats ass what happened during the election. We are allowing our country to be destroyed.

Doing something about that is far more important than worrying about what someone said last year. For Christ Sake.

You are right, what's going on now is more important. I have done things about it.

I do think, btw, that ignorant people throw the Muslin word around in a racist way.

But you yourself quoted the ignorant article as proof that Senator McCain was using the terminology in a racist manner. Which, by the way, the article said nothing about the truth in the matter, it was heresay on the Senator's tactics. Dont call the article you are using as a source ignorant because it makes you look as if you are ignorant as well.

Both of you cease and desist take it to another forum. This is not what this post is about, before I report you both for drama and argumentativeness. This post is about what we are going to do about now, not what happened in the elections. I am really getting tired of trying to redirect my post. Today and tomorrow not yesterday!!

As I have said before lets keep it in the current regime and what will be done about it now and moving forward. As for checks and balances they become removed when one party controls the Presidency, Congress and the House by majority to a certain extent. It doesn't matter how we got here, for that matter I could says it all started with Lyndon B. Johnson and the Ladybird regime. Please stay current and in the present looking forward to the future. Thank you. Will any of you posting be joining the protests in your area??

I'm kind of late replying to this, but oh well.

Checks and balances were not made to stop a ruling majority, the founding fathers made it to stop a single ruling power (i.e. a king).

Sorry for being off topic, though. But as for the current topic...um what was it again? It seems to be lost amongst all the bickering.slaphead

It was about raising your voice in oder to invoke change and telling the government you are tired of them infringing upon your constitutional rights. Sorry about the bickering I apologize.

Any specific constitutional rights that you're referring to? And before you answer that, caveat! 1)I HAVE ALL NIGHT. 2)I'm very fresh on the constitution and almost all of its meanings. 3)If it's about the 2nd amendment, people have been arguing over the meaning of that one for about 200 years, so no one knows for sure what it means. And the ones that DID have been dead for a little over 200 years.

I am talking about any and all you may feel are being violated under current law. It could be the right to bare arms, it could be the freedom of speech do you feel that the government is trying to take too much power and where, or even private industry infringements. And if so, what are you prepared to do about it for this countries future generations??

vote for a $500 billion tax bill without even reading it?

are spending trillions of borrowed dollars, leaving a debt our great-grandchildren will be paying?

consistently give special interest groups billions of dollars in earmarks to help get themselves re-elected?

want to take your wealth and redistribute it to others?

punish those who practice responsible financial behavior and reward those who do not?

admit to using the financial hurt of millions as an opportunity to push their political agenda?

run up trillions of dollars of debt and then sell that debt to countries such as China?

want government controlled health care?

want to take away the right to vote with a secret ballot in union elections?

refuse to stop the flow of millions of illegal immigrants into our country?

appoint a defender of child pornography to the Number 2 position in the Justice Department?

want to force doctors and other medical workers to perform abortions against their will?

want to impose a carbon tax on your electricity, gas and home heating fuels?

want to reduce your tax deductibility for charitable gifts?

take money from your family budget to pay for their federal budget?

these are some of the issues to be discussed

Only one of these topics is unconstitutional, that is : "want to take away the right to vote with a secret ballot in union elections?" And if it's "secret" then how do you know about it?

The rest are completely legal political decisions. (not saying that they were smart decisions, just still legal.)

It may me just me but, I thought it was about action. Uniting and taking an action to let Obama and his cronies know we ain't real happy with their shafting us.

OK. Good point.

And I changed my mind about the me having all night. I'm kind of trying to stay out of trouble right now, cause I think I'm on the naughty list, and I'm afraid I might get carried away with this discussion.

On a different note, I love the fact that people are wanting to protest and speak there minds. But please, know what you're talking about and research from many different sources before you do go out and protest. And even get multiple views on your subjects. Don't just follow everything the media tells you, it's not always as bad as they make it seem. So many people have very biased opinions because of what they here on the news and also misinterpretations. Please, for the sake of this country do not be one of those people. Research and know YOUR facts.

I won't speak for others, but I don't follow anyone. I am smart enough to use my own brain. I see too many people walking around blindly. but these are things I would like to hear about because I am concerned about it as well. but I won't sign a Loyalty Pledge either.

willing....are you talking about the tax tea party??? not sure you want action without a plan or else it's a free for all

I have a honest question about this. Why didn't people do this when the first part of this money was spent? This is the second half of the package. Why now?

The tea party that is brought up in this forum is actually the third tea party. People have been protesting from the start. The first Chicago (Nationwide) Tea Party was on February 27th, the next will be April 11th, and the last April 15th. The people have been protesting from the start but it hasnt seemed to help so they are going to try again before the government decides to spend even more money.
