I don't really understand why sending first emails is so difficult for some people. I often get emails that say "hi" and that's it. I wonder why some people think that's going to get a good response.

I just got an email like that, so I responded with hi. Then the person asked how the weather was. I just don't get how that is supposed to be interesting conversation.

If someone cannot put a little effort into an email, I will most likely respond with "hi" as well. It isn't very difficult to find SOMETHING more to say in an email. It just takes more effort than saying hi.

I get other stuff, too. However, "hi" seems to be the most popular. laugh

I think the "why are you single?" question must be on the list of typical first questions to ask, as it seems to be a question most guys ask right up front.

If you really think about what...most people have a hard time talking to people they don't know. I think people find someone they think are attractive and then they try to make a way to get their attention.
I think its great when they use their sense of humor...I got a great email yesterday. He was polite and funny, how does that happen??

I don't really get being shy in email. If you're too shy to say much in an email, how are you going to do in person with someone?

playing devil's advocate here lol....maybe they are shy and they don't know what to say. I know some think it's easier behind a computer...but if they aren't good at starting a conversation in real life, then they don't have experience to use online....just a thought?
