Myka had the closest answer I've seen yet, at least in my own opinion. The "girl next door" type is basically defined as being the down-home kind of girl, meaning naturally pretty and attractive (requiring little to no effort), definitely not pretentious or ostentatious. She's sweet, generous, virtuous with family values and personal morals, possesses a great deal of common sense, and knows how to use it. Shy and demure are also some attributes (for some, but not all). She's not afraid to just dig right in and get her nails dirty, and she's no stranger to hard work (in the 'physical labor' sense of the word). When the times are appropriate, she can dress to impress, and is usually very capable of knocking the socks off of any competition, leaving them with their jaws hanging on the floor (again, with little to no effort on her part, at least, not that she realizes).
This may be quite subjective, depending on what traits and characteristics are attractive to any given person, but as a general rule, she normally has a figure that most other girls would kill to have, and she doesn't even need to try. She's "got it", but doesn't have any need to flaunt it, because it's just a natural thing for her, and most of the time, she doesn't even realize it. In fact, most times if it's even brought up to her, she's somewhat embarrassed because she doesn't see it in herself, regardless of the fact that others do. She's the type of girl that every man wants to find, but few are fortunate enough to.

I think a more concise definition is simply pretty in a natural way, not wearing a lot of makeup or fancy clothes, and looks like and probably is a nice person. Like the last poster said, most guys can only dream about finding this kind of woman.
