As everyone says, we all remember small moments from our lives, some of them are only a few seconds or maybe a few minutes. Most of them don't even seem significant at all until later.

For me, every time it thunders, the first thing comes to my mind is a time i went with my ex to see a waterfall. We had to climb all the way up on a hill, since it was like numerous waterfalls as it came down in steps from the top of the mountain. Halfway up the hill - (and this was a steep climb with "natural rock steps") we saw a storm coming, but decided to go to the top anyway and then hurry back down. I don't have to mention, we got caught with a serious downpour and thundering like crazy around midway down.

By the time we got to the bottom, we were completely soaked. We were laughing anyway, because once we were on the bottom, we ran from tree-to tree to get the least amount of rain, since it was coming down like it was poured from a bucket. The funny thing was, that she had a t-shirt on, and no bra, so her boobies were showing through big time and there were other people there running around and standing around, because it's a big park.

So she ran tightly behind me so people wont see her much, but instead for fun purposes, I tried to run as fast as I can so the people standing under a roof not far can see her boobies dingling around in a wet t-shirt.

So we got to the car and she was cursing me, but just the funny way and threatening me "not to get any more of her b00bs ever" and so on...
The air cooled off from the rain and i turned on the heat and she was cold, and I told her to take off her t-shirt, nobody can see her anyway, it was still pouring out there and the roads were empty anyway. So she did and she told me to take it off too and we drove home half-naked both of us..and later that night....well..I save the rest of the story just to myself.

I was a baby in the crib

and at night when I went to sleep there were these little red sparks that would float over my crib. There was a feeling of safety and comfort that went with those sparks. And I knew that they were watching over me to protect me and I fell asleep in complete comfort. I miss seeing those sparks but since then I was never afraid of the dark

years later my dad told me "You dumbass. That was me smoking a cigarette"

When I was young. Like. 10 or so. I used to take my dog major, a big black collie
Into the woods across the street from the house

I used to sit there and write poetry

He would sit at my side for hours

I loved him

Whenever i smell tangerines I think about Christmas...and my Grandma who passed in January. We didn't have tangerines this last Christmas.

If I smell motor oil and sweat I think of Dad. When he was home that's what I'd smell. He was always working on something alone, or with one brother where Mom couldn't be in his face about everything.

Whenever it rains I miss England. I miss the pubs, running from the Tube to the bus in the drizzle, I miss laughing with Paula while we watched all the English people go about their lives so differently than we both did. I miss Paula, my African sister. She made me believe in fate and destiny and romance. She made me realize I AM brilliant and beautiful and fun. She made me realize I was strong too.

we used to have property close to Stephenville, TX. A hundred acres of mostly pecan and oak trees with a creek running through the middle.

I was about six and would get up at dawn and get my dad to help me saddle Big Red. I had to get on a tree stump to reach the stirrup. I would take a sammich lunch and a .22 and ride all day through the woods and shoot the .22 and eat sammiches and drink creek water till sunset. He was a great horse, I could shoot the gun from horseback and he would never flinch. I was crushed when he died

Spending time with my grandfather out on the farm, I'm reminded of this every time I see corn...really the only memory I have of my childhood...

I grew up on 20 acres and had to get up at 4:30am to do the chores.

Even though I am actually a summer baby, I loved winters on the ranch when I was 7-10 years old.

I'd come in and the house would smell like 'breakfast'; coffee, grits, bacon, jalapeno cornbread, etc. drool

Our house was always so warm because, in the winter, my parents cooked on a big ‘ol 8-burner wood-burning stove. The kitchen was at one end of the house and the family room on the other which had a fireplace. The house was HUGE, two-stories and hard to heat.

We had tongue and groove hardwood floors, so I would get my sleeping bag and camp out in front of the fireplace and watch Scooby Doo and all the other Hanna Barbara, Looney Tunes, and Schoolhouse Rock stuff with my dog -- Sugar Baby -- and eat breakfast.

After that, I cleaned my room and then my girlfriend and I would get bundle up, get the horses, and go ride most of the day.

I long for the days of not having responsibilities, being able to take off all day, alone, and not worry about being harmed by some idiot, and just being a kid. tongue2

Riding in the back of the station wagon after a day at the beach. My dad driving, can of beer in his lap, mom too I think, brothers and sister up front and me buried in the very back.
Warm, sleepy, played out. Then a nice warm bath.
