I don't think it is...her higher calling has not been defined....but I will play along.....so....if.....she is resigning to run for president....it is ok???? Well...maybe she is....

LOL, higher calling??? What not to be publically charged with a crime? Or maybe stepping down so she is not charged with the crime at all? Or maybe she has now found a sick following for her "political" agenda of illness and is going to have the snake handler priest who exersized her join her in creating a cult? Or her and her husband have finally found a way to secede Alaska from the US like they tried before?

HMMMMMMMMM what could it be?

Thanks,

you have illustrated my point, precisely. it is not the act of resignation... it is the person that is under attack...

No doubt someone will give her her own show and she'll be a female Rush Limbauh (sp?)....

hardly...but...lets hope so...hows that Hope and Change workin' for ya' ?...laugh

Hope not... actually I never take any presidential candidate all that seriously because I know they don't have the whole picture until they are in office and I am no body's fan. I always hope for change, but never expect it. Right now I am at least happy it's not McCain and Palin in there, that's good enough for me at the moment.

For someone who is supposed to be a flake (according to some) she sure gets people riled up.

Absolutely, I listened to all the speeches of all the candidates and she pissed me off the most. Especially when she called a large segment of society unpatriotic and called all those who believed what she did the true americans. Bite me Palin! She lost it for McCain, but he was too in love with himself to see it.

I believe the professional term for Ms. Palin is "whack-a-doodle" although I could be mistaken.

Wow have not used that in years, .. Like it though, fits.

"How sad that Washington and the media will never understand; it's about country," the statement said. "And though it's honorable for countless others to leave their positions for a higher calling and without finishing a term, of course we know by now, for some reason a different standard applies for the decisions I make."

-Palin

She plays the martyr, not so well.. lmao

He did not resign when running...like most....he resigned after he won....

so....that was his higher calling?????
Why judge her.. on her higher calling but not judge him?????

"did BHO resign from his senator's seat? yes...why???? I guess he is a quitter!!!"

That's called "running for President".

It had nothing to do with winning... He did not resign so that he could continue to use that position for fund raising till the very last minute...

DUH!! Politics 101. Senate seats are worth more than just the salary listed as compensation.

Still don't know exactly what he said and am not going to waste time loading video's with dial up, but I take it he said a bad joke about her kids which sucks, and I don't approve. Joke about her fine, but not her family. That said I don't feel a bit bad for Palin herself. A little payback for her tasteless comments and accusations on the campaign trail as far as I am concerned.

What goes around comes around Palin, maybe if you had thought better of the tasteless remarks you made about Obama and his supporters and a large segment of the American population he might have found something else to joke about.

What was that about pit bulls and lipstick hockey mom? Can't take it when the jokes are on you, instead of on those you find so UnAmerican. Ya, you're real tough, but whining is what you're best at.

That's what I love about Right wing conservatives, they never recognize their own tasteless comments and actions, but they sure let you know when your responses hurt 'their' feelings. They can dish it out but they sure can't take it.

She reminds me of my mother, who could snow every body but those that saw right through her. She can shot a defenseless animal from the safety of a plane but she can't take a joke? Ya, that's want I want for president.

She whole drawn out resignation speech just sounded like she was campaigning again, guess the governors job was boring after all the attention on the trail.

yes, I was there!!!

the point is.....depending on who is resigning they are treated differently.....regardless of the reason.....hypocrites are ok...just admit it........

So, if no one complains...it is OK

He missed 46.3% of the votes in the 110th session of congress.....third from the top!!!! Woot woot

And he won the popular AND the electoral vote in the Presidential election.bigsmile

It's different when you are resigning to become the President.

Do you really want someone as President who can't even make it through one term of being Governor?

You say that as if Biden is doing great???????

-- On March 13, 2009, Biden addressed a former Senate colleague by saying, "An hour late, oh give me a f**king break," after he arrived on Amtrak at Union Station in Washington, D.C. The vice president's expletive was caught on a live microphone.

-- During a Feb. 25, 2009, interview on CBS' "Early Show," Biden encouraged viewers to visit a government-run Web site that tracks stimulus spending. When asked for the site's web address, Biden could not remember the site's "number."

"You know, I'm embarrassed. Do you know the Web site number?" he asked an aide standing out of view. "I should have it in front of me and I don't. I'm actually embarrassed."

-- At a Jan. 30, 2009, swearing-in ceremony of senior White House staff, Biden mocked Chief Justice John Roberts for his presidential oath blunder on Inauguration Day.

"Am I doing this again?" Biden said, after Obama asked him to administer the oath. When Biden was told the swearing-in was for senior staff -- and not cabinet members -- the vice president quipped, "My memory is not as good as Justice Roberts," prompting a stern nudge from Obama.

-- On Inauguration Day, Jan. 20 2009, Biden misspoke when he told a cheering crowd of supporters, "Jill and I had the great honor of standing on that stage, looking across at one of the great justices, Justice Stewart." Justice John Paul Stevens -- not Stewart -- swore Biden in as vice president.

-- When criticizing former GOP nominee John McCain in Athens, Ohio, on Oct. 15, 2008, Biden said, "Look, John's last-minute economic plan does nothing to tackle the number-one job facing the middle class, and it happens to be, as Barack says, a three-letter word: jobs. J-O-B-S, jobs."

-- In a Sept. 22, 2008, CBS interview, Biden misspoke when he said Franklin D. Roosevelt was president when the stock market crashed in 1929.

"When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened," he said. Herbert Hoover -- not Roosevelt -- was president in 1929, and television had not yet been invented in 1929.

-- During a Sept. 12, 2008, speech in Columbia, Mo., Biden called for Missouri State Sen. Chuck Graham, who is wheelchair-bound, to "stand up."

"Oh, God love ya," Biden said, after realizing his mistake. "What am I talking about?"

-- At a Sept. 10, 2008, town hall meeting in Nashua, N.H., Biden said, "Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me."

-- Biden mistakenly referred to Alaska governor Sarah Palin as the "lieutenant governor" of her state during a town hall meeting on Sept. 4, 2008 at George Mason University in Manassas, Va.

"I heard a very, by the way I mean this sincerely, a very strong and a very good political speech from a lieutenant governor of Alaska who I think is going to be very formidable, very formidable not only in the campaign but in the debate," Biden said.

-- Biden said he was running for president -- not vice president -- during a Sept. 1, 2008, roundtable discussion in Scranton, Pa.

"Today is the moment for me as a United States senator running for president to put aside the national politics and focus on what's happening down there," Biden said.

-- Biden referred to John McCain as "George" during his vice presidential acceptance speech on Aug. 27, 2008, at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Co. "Freudian slip, folks, Freudian slip," he explained.

-- Biden confused army brigades with battalions when speaking about Obama's plan for sending troops to Afghanistan.

"Or should we trust Barack Obama, who more than a year ago called for sending two additional combat brigades to Afghanistan?"

-- During his first campaign rally with Obama as his vice presidential running mate on Aug. 23, 2008, Biden introduced Obama by saying, "A man I'm proud to call my friend. A man who will be the next President of the United States -- Barack America!"

-- On Jan. 31, 2007 -- the day Biden announced his presidential bid -- the Delaware Senator was roundly criticized for calling Obama "the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man."

My Dad is an Independent. During the election campaign my Dad told me that he respected McCain until he picked Palin to run with him.

You can't get hounded out of office by frivolous complaints. Otherwise, we wouldn't have anybody in office.
