Have you considered ever sending your man flowers for his birthday or another holiday?

If not why?

If so how did he react?

I've never sent a man of mine flowers for his birthday. But I have had a case of beer delivered to him. Honestly, I've never appreciated cut flowers. And besides, I figured he'd get much more use out of the beer.

The closest I've ever given a guy in the flower department was a chocolate rose. And that was for Valentine's Day. But I have given a small stuffed animal to a guy for Father's Day. I think stuffed animals, in my opinion, works well as an affectionate gift...no matter what day.

That they would never GET for themselves....or never THINK to get for themselves??

There is a definite difference.

If I think about buying something, chances are I am gonna go buy it...lol

I tend towards cards just for the heck of it. Little notes or teasing.

A gal sent me flowers once at work.

Hmmm...I dunno....

I guess when I actually decide that I want something, it sticks in my mind until I get it.

Of course, that hasn't worked out very well as far as the 67 GTO I've always wanted...lol

I definitely commend you for being that thoughtful about the guy you are with.

It's been a long time since anyone gave that kind of thought to me...lol

By the way...as far as you not having an SO...that would definitely be his loss, in my humble opinion.

i've been given flowers. she didn't know i was allergic. i wouldn't have much use for them anyway. that's one of those "it's the thought that counts" situations.

I gave flowers once and it didn't cause a big excitement... I have never done it since. Guys just really don't want flowers, they would rather have ya strip or do a number on the pole.

Maybe dressing like a flower...tell him to start pulling the petals to see what's underneath would do the trick. Then he'd really appreciate receiving flowers. bigsmile

I sent him a box full of his favorite goodies, chocolate candies, cookies, other treats he liked, also put in an alarm clock that made duck noises (was a joke) and Spongebob boxers -- was for his birthday. He really enjoyed the treat, cost me more to mail the sucker to the east coast than it did to buy the stuff  grumble.

Also sent him a stuffed animal balloon bouquet through FTD one time. He apparently enjoyed it.

And, yes, I am a slow learner, he was playing me all along. Some people need to be hit in the head with a 2x4 before they learn.ohwell frustrated frustrated noway explode

i don't get the flower thing myself. i think it's a cop out from having to put some thought, effort or money into buying something meaningful. but that's just me.

one ex gave me a detailing bundle that included clay bars, cleaning wax, microfiber cloths, spray wax, paste wax, wheel cleaner, wheel polish/wax, and even included cleaner/protectant for plastic trim, interior plastic/vinyl and tires that produced a nice flat luster instead of that goofy gooey shiny look. oh man i should have married that chick. slaphead
